A Chicago woman died after undergoing plastic surgery in the Dominican Republic earlier this month and now her family is calling on the United States government to help investigate the death.
Sucretta Tolliver traveled down to the Caribbean country and underwent an operation on December 12, her daughter Mariah Price told NBC 5.
The mother-of-four passed away at a recovery home two days after the surgery.

Umm, her name is Sucretta. Yes, they’re that stupid.
It’s sad. The State Department should help the family retrieve the body. Maybe they could add a note on their website that having cosmetic surgery procedures in the D.R. has a risk of death. (Not that it doesn’t in the United States.)
Other than that, the U.S. government should do nothing.

Perhaps her family should call on the federal government to investigate why American schools focus far more on critical race theory than critical thinking skills.
She died in the Dominican Republic under the “care” of a doc who was barred from practice in the US
“Tandra Bowser-Williams had the surgery on May 13 with Dr. Hector Cabral, who was indicted by the State of New York for operating without a license, fraud and conspiracy.
Bowser-Williams’ husband, Curtis Williams, told the N.Y. Daily News that she was operated at the Centro Internacional de Cirugia Plastica Avanzada in Santo Domingo and was kept in observation at the United Hearts Clinic, where she died.”
Shall we say there are consequences for taking the lowest price for what was most likely unnecessary surgery. What was she thinking? Probably believed her life would be changed and it was.
The family has retained Liolnel Hutz. They are planning on suing Dr Nick.

Yes, “a recovery home.” Maybe they should call them a “might recovery or might die home.”
It can happen here as well. Had a wealthy male client who died of internal bleeding 24 hours after liposuction. Reputable physician and hospital.
I believe medical tourism is a reasonable opportunity to explore, and sometimes, use, but plastic surgery is often on the vain/optional side and I just don't see it as a worthwhile risk in 3rd world settings.
You should get surgery for life threatening problems.
Caveat emptor.
And I say that as someone who’s experienced malpractice many times right here in good ol’ Upstate NY.
Never had Fedzilla, or even the state, investigating those **** ups.
My bet is that her 4 children are being supported by the taxpayer while she hoarded up her money for plastic surgery.
