And trans-roosters.................
We get them from people with chickens. $3 a dozen. People here have lots of chickens thanks to Rural King
Went to Costco this past Monday. No eggs, no butter.
Fred Meyers had eggs and butter, but had signs on the eggs about the shortage and price increases.
A commercial laying hen produces an egg a day, eight days a week.
We called ours "yard goats".
But really, who gives a cluck?
So again, why are bananas at the same price they’ve been for the past few years, with a much longer transportation need than eggs and yet they’ve remained at the same price as they have for the last few years?
Ben?
See if they throw the eggs out at the same time every week, and would they consider selling them at a discount a few hours before tossing them out?
Clearly,
this is not our fathers’ maths class...
our father who runs the math class hallowed by thy name,
Let C be one, and one be 1 both from now and until semester two...
amen.
(no blasphemy intended... but the false truths these days are pushing me that direction... a little)
A recent fire next door in Lancaster County (PA), wiped out 250,000 chickens, both layers and broilers. Prices here in York County jumped noticeably.
Look down stream.......
Actually prior to Covid, companies were complaining that they couldn’t get price increases through or stick and that earnings were beginning to get meager. Guess they found a way around it.
So again, 19 cent bananas are now about 34 cents at Walmart. I call that a substantial increase but I don't buy them very often.
Maybe you're not affected by this idiot in the White House
Good for you
Not really.
What happens is the little man from the Ag Department shows up and says your flock has tested positive for "avian flu". Now at that point you can sell all your birds to the government and they can be destroyed or you can try to fight it and end up selling all your birds to the government by court order and they will be destroyed and you have legal bills on top of it.
Your birds may or may not have avian flu. But if the little man from the Ag Department says they do then you are stuck.
Not saying I’m not affected, just pointing out that something that should be fuel sensitive in my area has had stable pricing.
Because nobody burned up all the banana trees.
No eggs available at all at 3 stores I have been to near FR HQ (Central CA). Empty shelves where they used to be.
Yeah - Walmart has jumped everything substantially
I began to notice it in March
I only expect to get worse but then I think Murphy was an optimist
