So again, why are bananas at the same price they’ve been for the past few years, with a much longer transportation need than eggs and yet they’ve remained at the same price as they have for the last few years?

So again, 19 cent bananas are now about 34 cents at Walmart. I call that a substantial increase but I don't buy them very often.

Maybe you're not affected by this idiot in the White House

Over 40% of bananas imported into the US come from Guatemala. I wonder if 40% of immigrants into the US are coming from Guatemala. Guatemala is home to MS13 and other cartels trading in humans and drugs. It wouldn't surprise me that the banana trade is somehow symbiotic to the cartels' trading needs: plentiful and cheap Guatemalan bananas could be a subterfuge for more profitable criminal transactions.
