OR....Maybe our solar system is a special creation of God?

We might not be here by accident or without purpose?!?!?

“et peeve, but “learnt” is not a word.”

I guess “Colour” rankles you also.

The author is Australian. Best you know what you are talking about before criticizing others

And they do that (rejecting God) because to admit to God (which, necessitates accepting Jesus) means they would have to give up their arrogant, prideful, sinful lifestyle.

Those fools entered into lives of debauchery and addiction then, decided they were atheists.

Ps 53:1: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

"'Life' exists elsewhere than Earth."

Given that your sentence is in the present tense and given the space-time distance to other stars and galaxies, evidence supporting such a claim would seem to be limited to actual visits to Earth by extraterrestrial beings.

No, we’re mostly hoping for intelligent life out there cause there’s bugger all down here. (hat tip to Eric Idle)

If there were ‘others’ out there, wouldn’t we see some sort of evidence, direct or indirect, of their existence by now?................

We've only been "discoverable" for an eyeblink's worth of cosmic time. They may have come and gone hundreds of thousands, millions or billions of years ago, or may not yet be discoverable. The distances are so vast that a reply to a message would come hundreds or thousands of generations later, the original message long forgotten.

1971 compact edition. Go ahead and enlighten the editors; I’m sure they’ll be grateful.

Doesn’t “The Heavens and the Earth”, imply with ‘Heavens’ that it is the entire Universe?

Two things:
1. That is what one could infer, depending on the context.
2. Even if one does take that meaning, is it discussing mankind and the need for Jesus’ death and resurrection for those of us occupying this planet, or is it just mentioning that God is the God of the entire universe.

I’m of the mindset that “heaven” has many meanings in the bible and often just means “the sky”, that is, what we would call the atmosphere of the earth. I see us as living on a big “space ship” with the atmosphere on the outside, rather than the inside, allowing us to see the universe in the immediate vicinity of our planet. And it is amazingly designed.

And whenever the bible discusses Jesus and his sacrifice, it is always about mankind on earth, just as much of the old Testament is Israel specific, even though there were people on the opposite side of the globe living out their lives, never mentioned in the bible, other than our great commission to preach His message to the ends of the earth - not the universe.

This was a huge revelation for me. Just as early bible writers thought the earth was flat and the sky was solid, held up by the pillars of the mountains, and was the dwelling place of God (and the rest of the elohim), and the early church believed the Earth was the center of the universe, we have simply accepted that the only men that could possibly exist are the ones on earth.

But it never actually says that.

I think the book, A wrinkle in time, as well as C. S. Lewis’ science fiction books about Venus and Mars touch on this as well.

The bible is only written for the inhabitants of earth, based on their past, present and future place in his kingdom. If there are sentient beings made “in his image” on other worlds, they have a different story. And I believe there is no reason to believe there are none.

The Drake Equation has a garbage in garbage out problem because it does not account variables or the possible existence of only one.

You could make and argument there is no intelligence life on Earth

Given they’re the same kind of leftists that inhabit the institution now, I know what kind of gratitude to expect from them.

Opus?

It amazes me how far some people will go to deny the existence of our creator. Well, the day is rapidly approaching when there will be no denying it. I fell for the man centered world for a long time but when I began to look closer at so called scientific proof against the Bible I realized that it was all based on assumptions that themselves are based on layers of other assumptions in order to arrive at conclusions that fits their world view.
