U.N. Urges Eating Insects; 8 Popular Bugs to Try
National Geographic ^ | 5/14/13 | Jennifer S. Holland

Ants are sweet, nutty little insects, aren't they?

I'm not talking about their personalities, but how they taste. Stinkbugs have an apple flavor, and red agave worms are spicy. A bite of tree worm apparently brings pork rinds to mind.

This information will come in handy for those of us following the latest recommendation from the United Nations: Consume more insects

Rabbits, raise rabbits. They breed like rats and taste great. In medieval times, they kept rabbit hutches in castle keeps. In case of a siege or rough winter they were a quick source of meat. There is a lot of edible meats from animals we forego eating because we buy beef, pork and chicken at the market. Gen Z and Millennial's would be amazed at what is edible and tastes great.

Living overseas I have intentionally and unintentionally eating some bizarre meats including dog. For the record, dog was better tasting than possum or raccoon. Squirrels taste better then dog in my opinion. Not sure I would want to eat the furry suburban rat type squirrel. But the ones feeding on my bait piles during hunting season look pretty fat and tasty.

I’d be happy to eat squirrel, gator, snake, possum, whatever. Not gonna eat Fido or Garfield, however.

I did mention somethings were eating unintentionally. The dog was served at a New Years Eve dinner and I had no idea what I ate until after. Having lived off of C-rations for a time, I took it in stride. It was tasty, but cannot see eating dogs unless starvation is the alternative.

Popular Bugs? I don’t think so.

Is that like popular diseases or popular bone fractures?

After the ‘Great Reset,” the elite will eat Wagyu steaks from messaged cattle while the reset of us eat bugs (to save the planet, of course). Us middle-class folk are just using up too much resources that’s should be saved for the elite.

When I see these idiots eating bugs I might consider it.

Until then, buzz off.
