A woman is going viral after revealed that her “considerably overweight” husband bought her a pricey gym membership for Christmas — after sharing rude comments about her weight.
“This Christmas, my husband gifted me a very expensive gym membership for 12 months. I am very fit and active, but simply have no time to go to the gym and my husband knows this,” the woman wrote on the now-viral “Am I Being Unreasonable?” thread of the popular “mommy blog” Mumsnet.
“Despite being considerably overweight himself, my husband has been making pointed comments about my weight for some time (I have a BMI of 20). Am I being unreasonable to be pissed off?” she continued in the heated post, which has sense racked up thousands of passionate comments.

Please everyone already knows she’s pissed off, she is just looking for validation and attention.
This isn’t a movie… no woman has ever told another woman they are being unreasonable, even if they think they are
reminds me of my ex
if I gave her nice comfy flannel pajamas, she would throw them in my face and stomp off saying "so you think I am too plain to wear sexy lingerie !! ? !
and if I got her Victoria Secret stuff she would throw a tantrum and move into the extra bedroom for a week screaming "SO YOU THINK IM A WHORE"
and people wonder why I'm single
sometimes I regret not giving her the spanking, maybe it would have saved the marriage
after I got out of jail for domestic violence

When times were tough, my husband got me a new vacuum for Christmas and I got him new work boots.
We were both thrilled!
That would be a hell of a “hint” if they had hardwood floors....hahahahahaha
I have certainly told plenty of women they are being unreasonable! Encouraged them to be fair and not overreact.
Sue might tell Betty that she's not being unreasonable, to cause friction between Betty and Frank. Then Sue will sneak over to Frank, and commiserate with him over how uppreciative Betty is, and that she, Sue, is here for Frank whenever he needs "a friend" to listen.
How did that go?
Women in general don’t want an honest opinion they want validation.. women learn this about other women very young… because they find out when they are honest that “friend” often will cut them off or other things. So to keep their friendships women generally validate their friends behavior over telling them the truth…
You are without question in the minority if you do tell other women the truth when they are unreasonable.
Yeah, it has a kind of “Do these jeans make me look fat?” vibe to it.

Well yes I think men do seek validation from men and women do seek validation from women. It’s a human tendency.
But if you make a good point — perhaps by sharing a similar anecdote —-
Sure some will listen. Or if you have developed a good relationship where they respect you and are willing to listen.
For example just today a colleague was fretting that her husband got irritable when she tried to talk to him when he is driving. I advised that he may just have a difficultly with getting distracted and that she should respect that he cares. Lower the expectations, don’t assume the worst just because he wants to focus.
No need to assume the worst about anyone.

Otoh the one whose husband for the first time got her nothing for Christmas after a lifelong marriage - with no explanation or apparent reason - I told her yeah he is being a jerk I’d be mad too. Just cold.
She’s perfectly happy with previous small gifts and always gets him
Something decent. They aren’t having a fight. He just didn’t care enough.
So yes I validate that she is a good and faithful wife he is just mean.
