Scott Ritter: Well first let's understand that the battle for Bahkmut has been going on for many, many months now. Bahkmut is the "Gordian knot" of the Ukrainian defensive belt that exists in Donestk. A defensive belt that has been constructed on a continuous basis since 2014. It is one of the most extensive, fortified defense systems in modern history. It is manned with troops. It has the support of heavy equipment, artillery, etc. And the Russians have been in the business of grinding it down for many weeks and what we see right now is basically we are seeing the culmination of all of the Russian effort.

I always laugh when people say, "How could Ukraine be outgunned." I don't know maybe because they only have x number of artillery pieces and the Russians have x times 10. I know that when I have more artillery pieces than you I am going to win that fight generally speaking especially in positional warfare where you have made is pretty easy for me by sitting in your positions that I can identify using my intelligence resources and pound you into submission.

You know there are two aspects to this fight. One is that the Russians are more than happy to let the Ukrainians sit in place and suffer casualties. Often times the Ukrainian battalion will rotate into the front lines and days later will rotate out suffering 60% casualties without ever having seen a Russian. They'll just show up and they die. Then they leave and another battalion comes in . And that's the thing. The Ukrainians are rotating battalions in. Every once in a while The Ukrainians will fail to rotate in on time; leave some chink in their armor and if that time is right the Russians will carry out an assault on that position. This is extraordinarily bloody combat, close quarters combat of the most intimate nature. They will face-to-face in trench; hand grenades, knives, bayonets, rifle stocks, bullets at close range and the Russians tend to prevail, seize the position and then they wait and start the process of grinding down the next position.

The goal of the Russians, of course, is to kill as many Ukrainians as possible and fortunately for Russia Ukraine is giving them plenty of opportunities to do just this by their tactics. One has to wonder at what point in time Ukrainians will recognize that the price of holding on to Bahkmut is too high. That Ukraine would be better off preserving these forces; some of who are well trained and using them as a mobile defense capable at least of lowering the casualty ratio. Right now Russia is enjoying an 8 to 1; 10 to 1 ratio primarily because it can exploit its artillery advantage. Even when Ukraine has modern Western artillery such as the M777 from the United States...the HIMARS, other artillery systems from other NATO countries they don't exist in sufficient quantities to level the battle field."

The Ukraine is losing and there are no more weapons to give them. Already the US has wasted $140 Billion and promised another $44 Billion to this lost cause. There will never be any accountability for billions in taxpayer dollars given to the Deep State crime hub in the Ukraine. December 15 interview with the head of the Ukrainian military, General Zaluzhny, published in the Economist.

Interview hi-lights below. Zaluzhny says Russia is preparing a big offensive and then describes problems getting what the Ukraine needs for the 'heavier battles' to come.

We are talking about the scale of World War One…that is what Antony Radakin [Britain’s top soldier] told me. When I told him that the British Army fired a million shells in World War One, I was told, “We will lose Europe. We will have nothing to live on if you fire that many shells.” When they say, “You get 50,000 shells”, the people who count the money faint. The biggest problem is that they really don’t have it.

With this kind of resources I can’t conduct new big operations, even though we are working on one right now. It is on the way, but you don’t see it yet. We use a lot fewer shells.

I know that I can beat this enemy. But I need resources. I need 300 tanks, 600-700 IFVs, 500 Howitzers. Then, I think it is completely realistic to get to the lines of February 23^rd. But I can’t do it with two brigades. I get what I get, but it is less than what I need. It is not yet time to appeal to Ukrainian soldiers in the way that Mannerheim appealed to Finnish soldiers. We can and should take a lot more territory."

For these reasons, General Zaluzhny is expected to negotiate a peace deal, the best the Ukraine can hope for is to not lose Odessa, and with it, their only access to a port. Without it, they will be landlocked.

Zelensky is going to be replaced (he won't negotiate peace even as every last Ukrainian soldier is thrown into the wood chipper) with General Zaluzhny. Zelensky has wrung every last dollar out of NATO and the US. Time for a strategic peace deal in order to rebuild the neo Nazi core of the Ukrainian army, if any of it survives the conflict.

Why is this 'good news'? Genocide is NOT a 'good' thing.

I don't support Russia, or Putin, but I sure as hell don't support Ukraine either. Ever since the 2014 Maidan revolution the Ukrainians have been trying to drive the ethic Russians who have lived in Eastern Ukraine for hundreds of years out of Ukraine. One former PM even proposed using nukes to exterminate them.

This really is no different than Yugoslavia where the US went in to keep the dominant Serbians from wiping out the Kosovo's. Except since 2014 it's been the Ukrainians trying to wipe out the ethnic Russians.

What scares me the most is how easily the media has been able to swing so many into believing such complete BS. I wonder how much it was because for 4 years they painted Russia as the Trump loving enemy?
