Smelly foods can make your breath fresher.
Look for Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus reuteri, Streptococcus salivarius and Weissella cibaria, but these are often only listed in probiotic supplements, yogurts, and kombuchas.

I have left ferments in the refrigerator for over a year. Some pickles I have left at room temperature for months. From what I’ve studied the bad bacteria can’t grow in the saline environment.
