"... It stinks! It's an abomination!"
I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard a Republican say those words, because I'd be a millionaire ten times over by now. Even the Repukes who vote for these Bills know they are an abomination, but they vote for them anyway, because it gives them an opportunity to pad the Bill with money for their special interests. None of them give a shit about the American people. It's all about their personal greed for money and power. Bills like this are nothing but chum for the hungry Congressional sharks to feed on. There's a feeding frenzy every time they come up with one of these things.

You can trust Rand. I dont think he has ever voted for one of these since being elected in 2010. His record is clear.
There are others like Mike Lee, Ron Johnson, etc. not many but still...

[4,000-page omnibus spending bill]
As always, I will not identify the employer, publicly or privately.
I worked for a certain Big 6 firm; back when it was still Big 6. At one particular event, we sat in a hotel meeting room for 2 days, while our bosses were out schmoozing it up with other folks, including classes.
Our job (3 of us) was to change all the words in certain pieces of paper to the current client we were working on. It was obviously thousands of pieces of paper though I can't tell you the actual number we edited over that two days. Just that they were at least 8-10 hour days. This is the assignment we were given. Been awhile but I think those pieces of paper then got passed on to be rekeyed and printed with the client's name, etc.
Obviously, the client was never, ever going to read that much paper. IOW, just throw a huge pile of paper at them. There's probably so much mumbo jumbo in this that no citizen's advocacy group will be able to digest it all before it gets advanced.
A mountain of paper. The recipients get the mine and the public gets the shaft. /Jerry Reed

Not to make light of the situation but I am blown away at the ridiculous amounts that are just thrown around - there can only be a frightening financial disaster coming. One that cannot be avoided.

And this is one reason why a bill should only have one item in it not multiple. Wonder how much pork is in the bill? We are finding out which Republican Senators are for the people or for themselves and their wallets!!!

We are finding out which Republican Senators are for the people or for themselves and their wallets!!!It appears that Joni Ernst is all in on Ukraine, not Iowa. This is not surprising, since some very heavy bank/investment types who never seem to have any real difficulty crossing international borders or doing business within their "extended family" have had minions in Iowa cheerleading for Ukraine and Zelenskyy. There was an event earlier in the year that went unremarked by almost everyone, but an acquaintance of mine in attendance wondered why in the hell Ukraine was tied to it and was told to shut up because the guy at the top has financial and emotional ties to Ukraine/Galicia/Whateveitscalled.
I preferred JE to any Dem at the time, but once she got the brass ring, she never really wanted to wash the stink of Mitt Romney off herself. She really does need to be replaced.

I could write a fiscal report and law in 4 pages... I guess they need 4000 pages so they can put 'Drag Queens should be loved by Conservatives, or Conservatives will be put to death on page 2548. Next to some graphs that is gibberish and 4 years old can have sex with their preschool teachers everyday on page 3076, next to a picture of Nancy, Adam, Chuck, AOC and Liz Cheney in the nude. (So people will skip over those pages...)
4000 pages.... We need a law saying any law introduced withore than 10 pages should be BANNED.

The historical record suggests a transition to the system of "despotism tempered by assassination".
It will be the Leftists who implement this system. After all, they already know how useless petitions, protests, and "voting" will be against each other. They will go for more effective measures.
They will continue to blame all their failures on Donald Trump and his supporters.
