We tend not to think of Tucker Carlson as the laid-back, anything-goes Cheech Marin type — after all, he used to wear a bow tie on a daily basis.

So we were somewhat surprised to hear that the Fox News anchor is quite happy for his house guests to smoke up a storm cloud of weed at his place.

We’re told Carlson invited heavyweight legend Mike Tyson to stay at his home before the champ appeared on his Fox Nation streaming show “Tucker Carlson Today.”

But insiders say that Tyson thought he’d have to turn down the hospitable offer because he has a heavy weed habit and didn’t want to impertinently hotbox Carlson’s tastefully appointed mansion.

But we’re told the Fox host assured Tyson, who appeared on the show Wednesday, that he was quite welcome to stay — and to blaze away to his heart’s content.

“Tucker told him that it’s not his thing personally, but he had no problem with Mike smoking while he was there,” said a source.

Tucker took 5 years to graduate.

I transferred and took 4 2/3 years. Things happen. Let's say, for instance, that Tucker struggled with a mandatory course (e.g. Calculus, though I don't know if that was mandatory at Trinity in the late '80s-early'90s). It would have no bearing on his overall intelligence nor his ability as an televised political opinion-monger.)

One other thing . . . despite some very good profs that I had the opportunity to work with, the school was QUITE P.C. even then. If Tucker shot off his mouth it may have cost him a grade or two in some classes.

BTW, source for this information? I don't think Obama's transcript ever got released from Columbia. Tucker is open and honest if he showed his. I may have even assisted him in the computer room, though I wouldn't remember him.

Anyway, if he just did enough to get by that doesn't mean he didn't learn anything. G. K. Chesterton and Rush Limbaugh were hardly college whizzes, either.

Excellent point. Neither Peter Jennings nor Mark Steyn went to college, but Peter Jennings was able to present himself as urbane, so nobody cared. Mark Steyn is brilliant, so few bring it up.
