“There should be a small cadre of specifically trained armed cops and all the rest should be unarmed “peace officers.”
While I miss the days when cops were peace officers, you’ve obviously never been to the west side of Chicago.

I saw his picture. Does not look like a gardened criminal, to say the least. Hope they release any body cams or info and get to the bottom of it.

You don’t get called to respond to a burglary, which could of course be a home invasion.

Yeah, let’s have unarmed peace officers respond to a burglary in progress.

At 7:30 am in Florida, you have tons of workers all over the place. But police at least here are not stupid.

Someone reported a burglary and called the police. Or did you miss that tidbit?

You have no idea. It could either be a horrible combination of circumstances, or the deceased, like many young adults, made a very poor decision.

“Who called the cops?” Doesn’t matter.
‘Why was he there?” Doesn’t matter.
“Was he just walking by?” Doesn’t matter.
“Why did the cop shoot?” MATTERS !
