It appears @NBCNews made a MAJOR change to their Griner story WITHOUT an editorial note. It changes the context of the prisoner trade story and takes heat off of White House. Why the cover-up?

No the real question is why did NBC screw up and initially report the truth.

Bout for Griner? Makes about as much sense as Marilyn Monroe for Ma Kettle. Or Babe Ruth for Frankie Crosetti. Or George Washington for Benedict Arnold, or... NBC has a problem; there is a mole in the organization who seems intent on getting the truth out. Same thing happened with the reportage on Paul Pelosi. Their evening news correspondent Almaguer reported the inconsistencies and lies about Pelosi and was promptly suspended, his story spiked.

Biden admin said they had no choice but Griner or no deal. The original NBC document said “ …Griner or Whelan…” or no swap.
