Dec. 5 (UPI) -- A Florida woman captured video of a bear she caught in the act of eating avocados from the tree in her yard.
Lynn Wracan of Davanport said the bear has been seen wandering in the Thousand Oaks area for months, and she recently spotted the bear showing interest in one of her trees in the early morning hours.
Wracan said the bear initially appeared to be interested in her Christmas lights, but she soon realized the animal was stealing avocados from the tree.
"No, he's eating our avocados," Wracan is heard saying in the video. "No, that's not a good idea, pumpkin. Oh, you're gonna take a nap now? Seriously?"
She said the bear has been blamed for fruit disappearances from multiple trees in the neighborhood. She said authorities told her there is nothing they can do.
In another friendly bear incident, a resident of Heathrow, Fla., awoke last week to a text message from a neighbor alerting him to the presence of a bear in his yard. The resident, Chuck Robbins, went to investigate and discovered the bear was asleep on his porch -- right outside the front door.
That is correct. In Florida you cannot kill a bear for any reason, except during season with a permit and there's damned few of those.
That is why we are up to our ears in bears................

I had a huge black bear step onto my front porch a few days ago while I was sitting there enjoying a fine cigar—maybe thats why. No one close to my area will dare to put out trash the night before...we wait until we hear the truck and run to the street. Otherwise we will be cleaning up the hood all day.
Bears come at dusk and feast on my blueberries.
Even bears won’t eat zucchini...............

I remember trees full of Korean women when the avocados ripened in Homestead.
That’s odd. All we ever get are homeless guys..............

Two thoughts come to mind:
The first is, did the Korean women get arrested? Or simply relocated?
Or if that wasn’t the case at all, between the two which ones did you pick? The avocados or the Korean women?
Looking at a map, Davenport is about 20 miles or so SW of Orlando. It is hard to tell for sure, but it looks those bedroom communities are relatively new. It appears to me they are in the middle of a forest area..
Or a dog dish full of antifreeze.
Well, Disney fired all the bears from the Country Bear Jamboree Show at Disneyworld, so now they are reduced to this..................

Pretty sure if the bear is attacking you, you can kill it in all 50 states.
There were only a few trees when I was there. Older photos showed that the open field in front of my dorm had been an avocado orchard. That would have been sweet.
