Nevada Air National Guard RF–4C's making a low-pass or two over Pyramid Lake. Enjoy!

Years ago we drove from Vegas up to Death Valley. Several times we saw Air Force (or Navy) fighter jets screaming overhead. Really impressive!
Arresting hook deployed at 3:30. I’d like yo see them drag that through the lake. :)
During the early days of the WOT jets, especially A10s, would fly low following the undulating contours of the land here in WV. I always assumed it was training. It always suprised me how our first indication of their presence would be a sudden BOOM as they’d clear a ridge followed by the dying roar.
Love me some Phantom action!
Those J-79’s probably originated the phrase “Turn and Burn”!
The engine troops at Homestead had “Sucks, Blows, and Goes” on the cover of their maintenance log book.
Hahahahaha....love it! Never heard that, but as a former jet mechanic...:)
Hits home!
Yup. F-4’s and BUFF’s are coal powered.;-)
Morning. Slept late, woke up to 59 inside, rain outside.
Got the heavy blanket and watched the Duke in a ‘44 duster.
From the email you sent:
Bill lives north of Houston TX under the approach path to KDWH runway 17R, which means he gets to look up at a lot of airplanes. A very good thing.
Sounds familiar!
McDonnell-Douglas Phantom II Supersonic All-Weather Fighter-Bomber ... mostly bomber.

Hard to say. Pyramid Lake is an indian reservation so they may have gotten pissed off.
The Navy likes to fly F18s low over Black Rock which is just north of pyramid. Hell, 75% of NV is a military MOA.
Just as an aside...my kid sister lives about a mile from an Air Force base in Massachusetts...a base that, among other things, performs maintenance and repair for C-5s.She routinely sees them taking off over her house...at about 300 feet. Those things are big...and loud!
Hey, they are AF, no idea what an arresting hook is for, so why not drop it?
Used to wrench on F-4J’s BITD. Great planes.
