s the not-so-small chance that Biden has confused the real-world mechanical designation of “semi-automatic” with the political concoction of “assault weapons.” I’m skeptical. Anyone who’s involved in the gun debate knows that “semi-automatic” guns, often purposely conflated with the more dangerous “automatic” weapons, are the target of restrictionists. A few years back during that shameful post-Parkland CNN gun “town hall,” the crowd loudly cheered at the suggestion of banning all “semi-automatic” rifles. And, earlier this year, the president suggested that ordinary citizens should be banned from owning popular “high-caliber” 9mm handguns. “So the idea of these high-caliber weapons is of — there’s simply no rational basis for it in terms of thinking about self-protection, hunting,” Biden said of the type of gun used by the Secret Service to protect him.
It is, as it always has been in the gun debate, incrementalism. From “no one wants to take your guns” to “we only want to take some of them” and so on. Of course, even if the president really intended to talk about a semi-automatic rifle ban, his goals would still be unconstitutional.

Perhaps the gun-grabbers have focus group tested the terminology again, and are ready to try another run at banning semi-autos. Or full semi-auto with the shoulder thing that goes up. Or something.

If the dems had their way, they would outlaw every tool use for personal defense.

A mish-mash of made up terms like “high-caliber weapons” by people who don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.
According to the constitution we don’t need BiteMe’s permission to own any weapon whatsoever, including crew-served weapons.
The White House already cleaned that one up, said he didn’t mean semis, he meant “assault weapons” which of course is an undefined term.
So, he didn’t mean anything, as usual.
The entire democrat party is the enemy, folks, not just the lead idiot they have.
Remember the good ol’ days when they wanted to ban sawed off shotguns and pistols because they weren’t “military” type weapons?
And now they want to go after guns that look like military weapons.
we all know they want to ban all guns. This is one of those times the idiot in the white house let the truth slip out of stupid his drooling mouth. Just like the time he said Obama assembled the biggest voter fraud org in country has ever seen. That group has been stealing elections ever since.

Biden makes sense when the country gets accustomed to the idea that The US has a tyrant in charge.
Assault weapons are black, magazine-fed, dangerous-looking, include pistol grips, flash hider,light weight ammo of high muzzle velocity, adjustable stock and have piccatinny rails and are essential to Texas hoghunters. They are light weight and children and seal team members can conveniently shoot them.

Yeah, I saw that, but I can’t help but wonder if it’s more of an accidentally on purpose sort of slip of the lip.
Josh Sugarmann spent decades wordsmithing the anti-gun narrative, and though he’s not at the forefront any more, the sneaky language keeps cropping up.
I don’t trust ‘em.
But maybe I’m just paranoid.
I think its sick Biden surrounds himself with security touting around fully automatic and semi automatic guns. No President or any politicians, needs such inherently lethal and violent protection.
I suspect it was just Biden being the usual idiot and getting it wrong (you know, the thing!).
But I share your paranoia. And the paranoia doesn't mean they're innocent or trust-worthy.
Like most liberals Brandon doesn’t know the difference between semiautomatic and full automatic. But being ignorant about the subject matter never stopped a liberal from pushing legislation anyway.
