Oh no, don’t tell me this show is run by leftists. I just started watching it 2 days ago, I’m now up to episode 3 of the 1st season and so far it doesn’t seem like anything special.

I wanted so much to get into this series.

Unfortunately it has too many F-bombs and GDs for me. A pity really......it would still be a great show without all that.

Refuse to watch it after Kevin Costner went pro Liz Cheney. Supposed to be a good show, however.

I noticed it and wondered why. Although some on the stage did have their hand over their heart. I can understand why the Anthem was muted because it’s long and Yellowstone is a high budget production, but why the VIP’s didn’t salute it, I don’t get.

1883 is pretty good. No man called another man his husband. I am out whenever that happens.

I don’t watch this garbage. Suffered through the opening season first episode. That was enough for me.

My mom played a round of golf with him in the late 80s

She had no clue who he was.

She was like oh you are in movies? Anything I might have heard of?

No, nope, no oh but nice meeting you, oh look it is my turn to tee off..

Most of the World Cup soccer teams sing along enthusiastically when their national anthem is played. Aside from 1 or 2 players, the US team in generally does not even hum along.

Or maybe they’re telling you something about the characters. I mean you really expect Beth to do ANYTHING with reverence? That’s not Beth. Dutton is all about land and family, not God and country.

Really, stop looking for reasons to get mad. Especially in a FICTIONAL show. Even more especially in a FICTIONAL show about bad people. There are no heroes in Yellowstone. Only bad guys the story is structured to make us root for.

The Suttons (chiefly, Gov John) are not taking oath to country or Montana; he’s taking office solely focused on the ranch and to protect the surrounding local pristine and ranch lands. This scene plays well to underscore that. The show isn’t taking a damn knee.

I’ve never been one to put my hand over my heart for the national anthem. Is it maybe a regional thing?

The pledge, absolutely, the anthem, never.

The prequel, 1883, is mind numbing dreck. The story focuses on a petulant, self involved 18 year old woman who falls in love with “loving.” Her numerous musings are insipid like a stoned first year philosophy major who thinks that they are deep..

The family hires murderous cowboys, has a prostitute daughter and hates the son they adopted. I’m not sure this country want’s their allegiance.

”[ they didn’t cover]their heart or make any effort to display their allegiance to our country during the singing of the National Anthem.”

I’ve been following politics and going to hockey games since the early 70s. Back then and even now, people only covered their hearts for the Pledge of Allegiance and not our National Anthem.

Not sure what conservatives see in the show.

I quit watching during the first season - got tired of being subject to woke rants from the malcontent Indian wench.

The writing was awful and the Army vet character was not believable.

Tough crowd here. The silence during the national anthem might be for dramatic effect. 1883 captured the hardship of wagon train emigration. Sheridan already alluded to the fact that Montana is at a competitive disadvantage for cattle raising compared to Texas. It’s inevitable that they sell off most of the ranch. What else are you watching? The Bachelor?
