Bill Barr: Trump Will Burn Down the GOP. Time for New Leadership.
Common Sense ^ | 11/21/2022 | William P. Barr

Posted on 11/21/2022 1:03:23 PM PST by Grandpa Drudge

The Republican Party has a historic opportunity to revive the old Reagan coalition. The person standing in the way is the 45th president, writes the former attorney general.

During the Republican primaries in 2016, I supported, in succession, every alternative to Donald Trump. I did not see him as our party’s standard-bearer. He was not my idea of a president. I could see that he was grossly self-centered, lacked self-control, and almost always took his natural pugnacity too far. While he could be compelling, I found myself cringing at his frequently juvenile, bombastic, and petulant style.

I also saw Trump’s strengths. I liked the clear and direct way he staked out a position and his willingness to state unpleasant truths that many were afraid to say. I appreciated that he was willing to confront head-on difficult issues—like unfair trade deals, or our allies’ paltry defense spending—that other politicians dodged. Above all, Trump had accurately diagnosed, and given voice to, the deep frustration of many middle-class and working-class Americans who were fed up with the excesses of progressive Democrats; the shameless partisanship of the mainstream media; and the smug condescension of elites who had mismanaged the country, sold them out, and appeared content to preside over the decline of America.

But it is now clear he lacks the qualities essential to achieving the kind of unity and broad election victory in 2024 so necessary if we are to right our listing republic. It is time for new leadership.

Outstanding point! In fact, I believe rampant election fraud is probably the most important issue, and the current election disaster in Arizona is just one blatant example.

So far, I have seen NO significant action to address this issue. It must be treated as a TOP PRIORITY, starting immediately with our newly elected congressmen, both Democrat and Republican.

We cannot afford to wait any time at all,, if we are to save our next election.

Trump. period. there is no alternative.

If you truly believe that, then you may as well give up now because he can only serve one term anyway even if he wins, and then we'd all be screwed anyway.

I don't share your belief that every American other than Trump is such a useless and hopeless turd. The faith you people put in one single man reflects a mindset unworthy of this country and its heritage. Our strength is in each of us as individuals, not in any one political figure whether that be Trump, DeSantis, or anyone else.

“Being obsessive is ignoring Trump’s liabilities.”

The Trump liabilities you refer to are ad copy from the DNCs FUD campaign that you and other idiots buy into.

Without Trump there is no hope. There is no one else who can defeat the deep state.

Listening to leftist psyops and puking all over Freerepublic.com instead of fighting for the fighter is the sure sign of a LOSER.

So sick of hearing people with no understanding of the situation we are in talk about their GD feelings, saying stupid sht like “I just don’t think Trump can win” or “I think Trump should step aside” or “Trumps time has past” or “don’t ignore Trump’s liabilities”.

If you are not 100% behind Trump, you are embarrassing yourself and hurting the cause of saving the Republic.

Let that sink in.

‘faith’

Way more than faith.

Trump won and was President of the United States.

He followed through on everything and did more in four years than anyone before him.

I have the ‘evidence’ he is what he says he is and does what he says he will do.

No one else comes close.

You want to pick from the RINO herd? That’s an option for you?

Just stop.

Bill Barr is wrong. Now more than ever we need a strong warrior. And Trump is that man.

This is the same Bill Barr who prevented U.S. Attorneys from investigating blatantly obvious cases of election and vote fraud.

You say"you may as well give up now because he can only serve one term anyway"

I say that's total nonsense! Trump actually did more good in his first term than most (if not all) prior presidents. His second (coming up) term will be even better, because he will have much less "Witch Hunt" nonsense to counter as we begin to really "Drain The Swamp". His follow on next president will then have his second term accomplishments to build further on.

Any other (possibly RINO) will simply dig the hole deeper.

If and I say if,the Republican Party was the true choice for America,Donald Trump is the No Brainer as the Candidate, doesn’t take a pay check works long hours and tells it straight about who the real enemies of America are.
They include McCarthy ,McConnell and China most of all.
Trump should be the candidate, anyone who says different is the enemy within

You do realize that a very large percentage of the voters do believe this and that is why Trump will struggle to be elected.

When I person says “I think” that person is not talking about their feelings. It is the person who says “I feel” who is talking about ‘feelings’.

Stop reinforcing their incorrect assumptions. They are victims of groupthink. They require deprogramming from “Trump bad” propaganda, not mollycoddling.

“I think” based on exactly NO FACTS becomes de facto “I feel”.

Do you have a degree in missing the point?

LOL, the way you put that so dryly just made me snort aloud!

It is so true. People really should ask themselves the question (and they don’t) “Why do these people want to render us advice on these things we value when they are antithetical towards them?”

More excuses. Trump’s actions are the reason, not the media.

The facts are there and you don’t have to look far and wide to find them.

WeaslesRippedMyFlesh wrote: “Do you have a degree in missing the point?”

No, but I do believe you do.

It is going to be interesting to see who else throws their hat in the ring. Trump doesn’t need to campaign against anyone this time — just for his repeat nomination. I don’t see anyone even standing a chance of gaining the nomination.

Cruz hurt his brand. DeSantis is not running against Donald or for 2024. While there are a few decent guys. like Pompao, they won’t come within 20% of Trump. There will be a few that run to get their name out there for the future, but I don’t see anyone capable of a challenge.

Believing that everyone believes as you do can lead to some nasty surprises and disappoitments such as the poor MAGA showing in the 2022 races.
