There's still a lot of conference title races hanging in the balance heading into the final week of the college football season.
The conference title games in seven of the 10 conferences at the top level of college football have yet to be finalized through the first 12 weeks of the season. And in cases like the AAC, Big Ten and MAC, there are head-to-head matchups where the winner will advance to the championship game.

Since LSU beat the Empire, the talk has been if LSU beats UGA at the ATL, then Tennessee should also be given a playoff bid. The College Football Playoff would be the SEC Invitational with 3 of the 4 spots filled with SEC Teams.
This was too much even for the football gods so their chosen weapon to smite the arrogant was a chicken and a QB with a family name that invokes the iconic snake of North America. The rest of the nation salutes the Gamecocks and Rattler.
My loser of the week, with due apologies to EE and DFW, is the Florida Gators. Any SEC team that loses to a university named after a Robber Baron is the automatic loser of the week. Will this provide the material for the upcoming SEC Shorts? I want Miss Regina back.
Hopefully I can find a spot on Traveler. I want USC in the playoff as some badly new blood. It is about time "Tribute to Troy" is once again blasted across the nation; the greatest piece of ear music evah written.
I will still refer to TCU as the correct genus classification of Horned Lizards but that lizard has more lives than a cat.
David Shaw will still be at Stanford because, well, you know, equity and stuff.
Stanford has fallen off the college football map. From Christian McCafferty to anonymity. There is chatter Stanford cracking down on any type of nonsanctiined fun has soured the place for potential recruits.
“It is about time ‘Tribute to Troy’ is once again blasted across the nation; the greatest piece of ear music evah written.”
Sarcasm acknowledged, but the mute button gets pressed whenever the USC band plays their two insidious ditties. If Congress could do something meaningful, they would outlaw the playing of those ”songs.” Fingernails on a chalkboard sound way better.
Shaw is actually an excellent coach and a great human being.
He may be a great human being but has been living for a decade on Harbaugh’s legacy.
Managed to stupidly lose the 2012 Fiesta Bowl and the 2014 Rose Bowl.
Close calls in the Big Ten as it took until the last minutes for Michigan, and OSU to win their games. USC, and TCU looking good.
Still don’t see anyone getting past Georgia.
Hawkeyes beat the Gophers in Mpls. 7 degrees...
If ESPN and the cfp system wasn’t corrupt Ohio state and Michigan would both get in this year.
The USC tunes are far better than listening to “Boomer Sooner”, an oldie-but-awful that you won’t be hearing in the playoffs this year.
USC is not eligible. NCAA has limited playoff berths to real colleges only. Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan and Tennessee. Two SEC and two Big Ten.. Seems about right.
If ESPN weren’t corrupt it wouldn’t exist.
The playoff picture is still wide open. Still working one more regular season game, and then conference playoff.
How is USC not eligible?
Floyd stays home in Iowa City!!!
Go Ducks! We beat the Beavs and we are in the Championship for the Rose.
If the Trojans beat the Domers next week and win in Las Vegas, they should definitely be eligible.
To get to Vegas, you still have to win the Civil War.
Cool. Thanks for the answer, and I hope they get a place in the Playoff.👍
How/when do we find out which college is going to which bowl game?
We assume MS State will get some minor bowl invite, and we want to try to go, because it would be our last chance to see our son play (in the marching band). But how do we make plans?
