Ford is recalling over 550,000 F-150 vehicles in North America, according to a Friday report.
The recall affects F-150 vehicles across the United States and Canada and is the result of a concern that their windshield wiper motors might fail, causing wipers to not operate at all.
The inoperative wipers on the 2021-2022 models could lead to reduced visibility and an increased risk of accidents, Ford said.
At least 453,650 vehicles in the United States and 103,076 in Canada have been recalled, the report noted.
Owners of the vehicles will receive notification letters by Jan. 3, and front windshield wiper motors will be replaced by dealers at no cost.
If only they had stuck with the 1970 style motor.
It’s probably something to do with climate change.................
Boy, howdy! Evidently quality at Ford has taken a deep dive. I wonder if they have adopted the same quality “standards” as Government Motors.

New motor is likely sourced to Xi & Bixiden Wiper Motors LLC, Wuhan, China.

Back in the day, F150 production used to approach 1 million per year.
2022 and they can’t even make a reliable windshield wiper. We are doubling down on stupid.
And then, they’ll suddenly refuse to give them back, but provide the owners with a fine EV instead.
Nah, the manufacturers that suck pretend everything is OK until they get caught.
At least few ICE powered F150s self immolate.
You can safely park them in a structure overnight.

Oh PLEASE, no one buys a big, manly, truck because they want a big, manly, windshield wiper motor. A REAL MAN doesn’t need windshield wipers to drive, at least most of the time.
Mine, too, but I was hoping for a free new set of blades.
Bet the parts box reads MADE IN CHINA GM is doing the same thing.
