PINGING ALL MY LISTS.
IF YOU HAVE ONE, PING IT AS WELL!........................
I bought mine when they announced a price increase years ago. Plus at Yellowstone they usually have a separate (shorter) line for lifetime holders on busy days.
Will they pay for the gasoline necessary to travel to the NPs to collect their “free” admission? This is a sop.
Later
I’m certain a trip to Antietam would cheer them up.
Thanks for the info.
I didn’t know they had an option to show my being a veteran on my Colorado driver’s license. I don’t see any designation on it.
One of the few nice things the deep state does. The $80 lifetime senior pass is great too.
The act of doing ones duty should not be something that sets one apart from the citizens who pay for everything.
Veterans should be treated like every other American.
A friend in GA told me his driver’s license was free because he was a veteran of a foreign war. I served with him, so I was a bit puzzled. Grenada. And neither of us deployed. .
This is a nice touch to make it a lifetime pass. I mean, if I was a qualified Vet last year, aren't I still qualified this year?
And for any Honorably Discharged Veterans who did not retire from the military and do not have a military ID anymore, and aren't using VA benefits and don't have a VA Healthcare ID, I urge you to apply for the VA's Veteran Identification Card. This card is accepted as proof of Veteran status for most government programs (like the Park Service program here,) as well as proof for Veteran discounts at most stores, hotels, restaurants, etc.

My adult son and I visited several National Parks out West this past summer, and as we were entering Zion National Park I was prepared to purchase an annual pass when I noticed on the sign that veterans passes were free. This Veteran ID card saved us $80!
After a one time $20 fee.
As a veteran who is not among "them that's been shot at", I tend to agree.
However, I think those who have been to hell and back should have every perk they can be given.
I got it on my Georgia license. It says “veteran” in small print, lower right hand corner.
Look for some sort of “V” designation or it might say “veteran”. I had to show a DD214 to get it.
And here I am, 1000 miles from the National Parks I love to visit! And too old to go back!

This is a great deal on the Fed level.
I havent found any special discounts for the Kansas State parks entrance fee for vets but am looking. Kansas does have free hunting and fishing license for vets 30% disabled and up.
Thank you! I never would have known about this.
Trump did it. By EO I think. They finally got around to making it permanent.
