that’s why I dont get why the PGA was on Daly’s nerves about smoking. If anyone even read (and saw) how many times British and US golfers had a pipe between their lips when they took out their drivers back in the early half of the 20th century. Harry Vardon and Ted Ray were smoking almost at the start of every hole at US tourneys before they played at Brookline.

He’s a health nut compared to Nicolino Locche. Nicolino hated training and the way he made weight was by smoking - up to 50 cigarettes a day! But boxing was his career. He was an enigma and more intriguing than Chen.
Many people do not realize there are two ways of smoking.
The current way is to inhale the smoke into the lungs and then blow it out.
The OLD Indian way, called “Smoke drink”, is to suck the smoke into the mouth, then swallow it to the stomach, then burp it back out quietly. It totally bypasses the lungs.
My family used the old method and lived into their late 80s with no lung problems.
Maybe the runner uses the old method.
I do not smoke at all!
I had a Drill Instructor who smoked Marlboro Reds, but he could outrun anybody.
Reminds me of Rosi Mittermaier. Used to watch her chain smoking up the chairlift and winning World Cup skiing events. She took a few years off to have kids and came back (still smoking) and won a few more before retiring.
Better lungs than 3/4 of the world's population if he's running marathons at a 3:28 rate at his age.
Ever read about the pre-WW2 Army or Marine Corps? Forced 20 mile hikes with full packs and gear. They all smoked.

I remember some Snowboarder who was going to get his medal taken away cause of marijuana. Dont remember what happened, but it seemed like to do that they might have to declare marijuana a performing enhancing substance, and I wanted to see how they might spin it.
