The decaying hotel at Miami Beach’s historic Deauville Beach Resort, which once played host to everyone from the Beatles to President John F. Kennedy, was imploded Sunday morning after it was declared an unsafe structure.

I understand. Human safety is much more important than the building.
Still, I suspect that this policy will also end up being a handy excuse to use building safety laws to facilitate redevelopment without going through an eminent domain process.
