The famous Jewish actor and humorist Gad Elmaleh, beloved in France, announced his conversion to the Catholic faith, a process in which he says the Virgin Mary played a crucial role.
Elmaleh, 51, was the partner of Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco, with whom they have a son named Rafael.
His conversion to Catholicism is depicted in his new film, “Reste un peu,” (“Stay a while”).
The Jewish actor, who according to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo will take the name of Jean-Marie when he is baptized, has studied theology in Paris, and in 2019 he participated in a musical in London about St. Bernadette Soubirous, the visionary who saw Our Lady of Lourdes.
Elmaleh told the French newspaper Le Figaro that “the Virgin Mary is my most beautiful love” and expressed his surprise that in France the “vast majority of Catholics don’t live their faith openly.”
As a child, he recounted in the interview, he entered a church and saw an image of the Mother of God.
“It wasn’t a vision, just a simple statue, but I was petrified. I began to cry and hid for fear of being discovered by my family, for fear of curses and superstition. I kept it a secret for my entire childhood,” he recalled.

I know...
HMMMmmm...
It appears she did at one time in her life!
Luke 2:22-24When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”), and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”
The LAW!Leviticus 12:7-8Then he shall offer it before the LORD and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who bears a child, whether a male or a female.
'But if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, the one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she will be clean.'"
And we Prots are the one's specklating?
...there is a smell of brimstone here...
I glad there no Protestant-hating being shown in this thread.
That enables them to claim the high ground.
The question referred to the purification after touching a dead body.
Troll.
“Cleansing from the flow of blood” is not a SIN offering, but a purification offering according to the text of the O.T.
Troll.
Mu guess is a well of bitterness erupting ...
Follow the law there do not follow the law here.
Methinks thou hast a reading comprehension problem.
Leviticus 12:7-8
Then he shall offer it before the LORD and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who bears a child, whether a male or a female.
'But if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, the one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she will be clean.'"

What kind words will the future bring?
‘Only The Shadow knows’
Uh-huh. Doesn’t mean Mary sinned, as it was written long before Mary was even prophesied of in Isaiah
You can find offerings elsewhere in the O.T. being made, “in case” the beneficiary had sinned; the offering frees from sin but does not cause sin to have been committed retroactively.
Since you've gotten the Half-beast Number, perhaps you'd like to re-read something:
1 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Say to the Israelites: ‘A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period. 3 On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised. 4 Then the woman must wait thirty-three days to be purified from her bleeding. She must not touch anything sacred or go to the sanctuary until the days of her purification are over. 5 If she gives birth to a daughter, for two weeks the woman will be unclean, as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding.
6 “‘When the days of her purification for a son or daughter are over, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting a year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a dove for a sin offering. 7 He shall offer them before the Lord to make atonement for her, and then she will be ceremonially clean from her flow of blood.
“‘These are the regulations for the woman who gives birth to a boy or a girl. 8 But if she cannot afford a lamb, she is to bring two doves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for her, and she will be clean.’”
Yeah, can't have those long established things (from the Lord's mouth) messing up what the new kids on the block want to change things.
“Uh-huh. Doesn’t mean Mary sinned, as it was written long before Mary was even prophesied of in Isaiah”
I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here, Grey. Are you saying that Mary never sinned up to the birth of Jesus or that Mary never sinned in her life?
Neither one.
The mere command to bring a pair of birds, one of which is to be a sin offering, doesn’t cause a woman to have sinned retroactively, just by giving the offering.
So saying Mary obeyed this command, is not enough to constitute proof that she had sinned.
(The example of making offerings on behalf of others, is Job. Who as the Bible says, was righteous in all his ways. And yet I had heard a Protestant preacher once explain, that the reason Job’s children were killed, was that Job removed God’s hedge of protection around them, by offering sin offerings “in case they had sinned” which evinced a lack of faith, thereby destroying God’s protection.)
And as one of the other trolls has loudly insisted, if it’s not written in Scripture, it’s speculation.
And Scripture never records Mary as having sinned.
So by his own standard, he loses.
ROFL!
You’re wrong.
Can’t tell at this point whether you’re trolling, wanking, or lying.
But the refutation of your bolded is trivial.
