🤔. Is this when the claim of a 7,000% (or 9,000%) increase in racis’/homophobic/anti Semitic comments occurs. Guess someone read it on the interweb so it must be true. 😵🐎💩
I wonder how Steve feels about Twitter.
(((YAWN))) We’re doomed again. What will we do without the TWITS on Twitter?
It’s not uncommon for billionaires to think developers are overpaid clerks and they don’t trust managers to tell them who is needed because the answer is always “all of them”. Slash and burn in the IT department is just going to end in disaster. Eventually, the site will just stop working.
Maybe that is his plan.
Sure you can when they don’t do anything all day.
He’s working on the naive presumption that all those twitter employees put in full 8 hour days actually doing something productive, something besides banning people they disagree with.
Replace everything computer related in the above article with some government function from running the FDA to printing stamps, and you get the typical big-government mindset where all those useless paper-pushers are ‘essential’.
I love reading these predictions of doom for twitter from ex employees and fanbois comign from the premise that Musk wants the company to stay the exact same company with the exact same business model and same corporate objectives.
Left wing thugs will deliberately destroy the site - with trolls, twisted laws, and democrat thuggery. Sabotage... Biden the buggy has already spoken of it.
Of which probably 300 million are bots. Prove me wrong.

Cloud services - most users of cloud services overpay.
They do this because up until lately there have been no good methods for determining how much (memory, compute, bandwidth)is needed to run a particular task. So, the default has been to provision more than is likely to be needed. However, new methods have lately emerged that allow an almost exact calculation of resources needed. From presentations I’ve seen, savings are usually in the 40%-60% range.
He says that like it's a bad thing.
Oh. Well, that didn't happen. I'm no fan of Twitter, even with Musk at the helm, but this guy's wishcasting is just retarded.
Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols’ analysis may be accurate. Or it may not.
The main target of Musk’s swing of the big axe was the entire political apparatchik that contributed nothing to the technology of the system. How much overlap in that strata between political goons and tech wonks remains to be seen.
But I suspect Musk has a better perspective than SJVN.
Twitter will do just fine. Nothing a $billion in money won’t fix, using non woke programmers.
Aside from a few little technical glitches, it seems a lot more fun now.
It is simple. There are just too many moving parts. Get rid of the “control” algorithms that conflict with each other and go back to the original base core and it will be fine. Get rid of the garbage, make it simple and stable, and then leave it alone and it will run it’s self. Our own forum has been up and running for over three years and never needed to be touched once. Get it stable and if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it and add garbage, just leave it alone.
