Vanity: Thank you for your service, but....
11/9/2022 | By Laz A. Mataz

Donald Trump is my favorite President, even more so than Ronald Reagan.

However, I think I’m moving on from him.

I like him in the role of a clarion-calling standard bearer, and his presidency was the best I have ever seen.

I don’t like him in terms of his failure to be a team player. I’m not even sure I like him as a kingmaker. Calling out numbers to make him look good, in a severely-disappointing election shows me he doesn’t care about the boots on the ground, but only how he looks.

Reagan faced the same Establishment hate and Media mocking, but he had a great way of playful rebuttal, with a twinkle in his eye and a little smile. America loved that. All the attacks mustered against him, failed, because he was able to gently turn it around on his attacker with a witty quip or a well thought out fact.

Reagan was also the author of the phrase, the 11th commandment, which was “Thou shall not attack a fellow Republican.”

Trump, on the other hand, has a serious ego problem. He cannot resist getting into a public verbal fight with anyone who criticizes him. While this was fresh and new in 2016, and propelled him into the presidency, it doesn’t work in 2022.

Also, the way Trump fights back is not nearly as good as Reagan’s style. Trump hasn’t got the charm of Reagan, and it’s beginning to hurt our side.

It is for these reasons that I must move on from Donald Trump. Sir, thank you for your incredibly wonderful service in 2016 through 2020. You made those years prosperous and sane. But it is time to move on.

I’m likely to get a ton of flak for this post. That’s okay, I can take it.

Who would you like to see run in 2024?

Kari Lake.

I like Kari Lake, but we don’t know if she can get things done.

Was in Chattanooga and met a couple from Georgia. I told them I had been in Alabama at a rally. The wife asked if it was Trump’s and I said yes.

She said she voted for Trump but wanted DeSantis because Trump had too much baggage.

I can see exactly what you are talking about.

I’m with you. Trump is an anchor now. It’s time for DeSantis. I’m hoping someone gets in Donald’s face before the 15th

This entire circumstance is proof the uniparty is alive and well..

Trump runs the risk of being a Teddy Roosevelt ensuring the demoncrats win..

Outside of the Trump effects... look at the rest of the races... PA, NH.. etc..

It’s time to stop letting the parties run flawed candidates, end open primaries and repeal the 17th Amendment.

The lobbyists in DC along with their Party hacks have too much influence. Look where we are... hanging our hopes on Trump.. one man.. step back and see how the game is flawed.. time to restore the Republic, repeal the 17th Amendment.

Also, simply ask yourself this question.....

Would you rather have 4 years of Trump and be done or...

Potentially 8 years of DeSantis and a strong VP in waiting?

DeSantis obliterates Biden or anyone else they run.

Pretty much the same here.

And call it running away or giving up-—I want to win so we can do something.

Kari Lake would be awesome. Sure the old rinos would disagree. “Not her turn” And msm would paint her as inexperienced. Give her the Palin treatment.

Everyone I know who voted for Trump still like him but they are not against a DeSantis run

That might be the best post of the day here on FR.

Anyone who has experience in dealing with people from all walks of life will tell you that “Make America Great Again” will always be a fool’s mission in one critical respect: You can’t make America great again until Americans are great people again.

I am glad to hear your comment about Trump. Obviously, if he was the nominee on the Republican ticket in 2024 he'd have my vote in an instant.

That being said, and despite a great job as president for 4 years against impossible odds, I don’t want to see him running in 2024. He is too controversial, thanks to the media, RINOS and democrats. He has way too much personal baggage, He is his own worst enemy. He is certainly entitled to his tweets but some things have consequences.

The last straw for me was calling Ron Desantis, "Ron Sanctimonius” in one of his rallies the other night. He lost me right there. Desantis is an almost perfect candidate to be a successful president. He has been an outstanding governor, despite unwarranted constant sniping by the liberal media. I’d be very happy to have him for my Governor for another 4 years. But it's time for Trump to pass the torch.

I’d like to see Desantis- Kari Lake in 2028, and Biden, Garland, and Majorkis hanging from a lamp post somewhere near the Lincoln Memorial. Keep up the great work, my friend. We are with you all the way.

Seriously, I am laughing out loud, who hasn’t done that? The topper was, spike heels with the jeans, so not only could I not digest and breathe, I was crippled.

I said to my jeans, in Laz’s terms, “Thank you for your service, but…..”

Yeah, Bikkuri is one zot-happy retread-obsessed guy. Sad to say. Happy secure people don’t behave that way. Maybe you should think on that yourself. Have a nice day 😊

Yeah but you were a hot looking non-breathing, not-digesting cripple.

So there's that.

Maybe I don't need advice from FR Class of 2020.
