Why the red tsunami seems to have hit only Florida

As vote counts continue to be posted, it is clear that Republican hopes and dreams of a huge wave election have been dashed. Instead of a large House majority and solid control of the Senate, Republicans will be lucky to have small majorities in each chamber, and even that outcome is not secure at this moment.

But in one state, Florida, Republicans have triumphed in tsunami-like proportions. With 98% of the vote counted, Marco Rubio has a 16.4% landslide lead over Senate challenger Val Demings, and Governor Ron DeSantis has a 19.4% lead, a gigantic increase over his fraction of one percent squeaker victory 4 years ago.

It’s going to take some time to figure out why the rest of the country isn’t behaving like the Sunshine State, but 3 factors suggest themselves.

Ron DeSantis displayed gutsy leadership in confronting Covid, enduring taunts as “DeathSantis” and far worse, as he refused to cower before the might of Dr. Fauci, the medical establishment, Big Pharma, the media, and Democrat politicians. As a result, Florida prospered as other states closed down their businesses and schools. (The other governor who resisted the panic, South Dakota’s Kristi Noem won with an even bigger margin: 26.8 points with 97% of the vote counted.) Note the sign on his podium as he addressed supporters at his campaign headquarters in the wake of his victory, with his cancer-survivor wife at his side:

Florida has an experienced, talented, and well-funded Republican party campaign organization. For example, their legislative campaign unit yesterday netted nine additional seats in the Florida House and elected a conservative Black Republican to the state Senate — the first since Reconstruction. The Florida Democratic Party no longer holds any statewide offices and is nearly irrelevant in state legislative politics.

I will say, and I have said all along, that DeSantis appears to have the one thing Trump doesn’t, a good team working for him, these are guys he could bring with him to DC and hit the ground running should he become President.

Trump is one man. Who is his “team”? As much I supported Trump, if he ran again, before I would support him I wanted to know who was going to be on his team this time around, as opposed to the first time, where he pretty much made it up as he went along.

DeSantis will find it hard to avoid the snares and traps of DC. In Florida, he benefits from a loyal and principled GOP that took decades to build. That is “his team” in Florida. In DC, my guess is that if DeSantis were President, he would inevitably draw heavily on his former House colleagues — a mixed lot at best.

Hey, Guys. There is good news out there and part of it is that Kari Lake is now down only 12,000 votes to Hobbs.

“A lot of them moved to Florida. Some of them moved to the Carolinas and Texas. But so did the Liberals.”

Look how close the Senate race was in NC. Budd barely won. NC already has a Democrat governor. Liberals are flooding to the state and young people who have been indoctrinated in public schools vote Democrat. Demographics is destiny. When RINO US Senator Thom Tillis runs for reelection in 2024 it is very likely he will be opposed by Governor Roy Cooper and Cooper will prevail.

Does FL take election integrity a bit more seriously than the rest of “The Union”?

Re no red sunnami!

Maybe the answer is simple math and reality:

Thousands of good conservative voters have moved/swarmed into Florida and a few other good Red states from democrat stronghold states in the past 2 years.

They left behind an even larger liberal majority of dem voters, scum, who have voted for dems all of their life or since departing from life in those demcRAT states.

So, the really scummy liberal states like: NY, PA, Ill., Minn., Ca. Or., Wa., and Wisconsin are even more liberal after their good conservatives left for states like Florida.

This made stealing votes or manufacturing them even more effective.

Because FL didn’t experience the massive election, ballot and voter fraud that occurred everywhere else. End of story.

Yup!!!

And he could bring his infiscructure into a National campaign.
Not to mention, being 46 when Biden is 82.

There is no baseline.
Universal mail in voting was only started in PA in 2020.
I don’t think that, even, Saddam or Chavez went above 75%, because it looked too suspicious.

if anything, FL is likely a good guide to how actual voting trends nationwide have been in 2020 and 2022.

but we can only see it in FL.
