Why the red tsunami seems to have hit only Florida

As vote counts continue to be posted, it is clear that Republican hopes and dreams of a huge wave election have been dashed. Instead of a large House majority and solid control of the Senate, Republicans will be lucky to have small majorities in each chamber, and even that outcome is not secure at this moment.

But in one state, Florida, Republicans have triumphed in tsunami-like proportions. With 98% of the vote counted, Marco Rubio has a 16.4% landslide lead over Senate challenger Val Demings, and Governor Ron DeSantis has a 19.4% lead, a gigantic increase over his fraction of one percent squeaker victory 4 years ago.

It’s going to take some time to figure out why the rest of the country isn’t behaving like the Sunshine State, but 3 factors suggest themselves.

Ron DeSantis displayed gutsy leadership in confronting Covid, enduring taunts as “DeathSantis” and far worse, as he refused to cower before the might of Dr. Fauci, the medical establishment, Big Pharma, the media, and Democrat politicians. As a result, Florida prospered as other states closed down their businesses and schools. (The other governor who resisted the panic, South Dakota’s Kristi Noem won with an even bigger margin: 26.8 points with 97% of the vote counted.) Note the sign on his podium as he addressed supporters at his campaign headquarters in the wake of his victory, with his cancer-survivor wife at his side:

Here in universal mail-in CA my wife and I never received our mail-in ballot. So we went to our poll and were given a provisional ballot. We had to fill out an application before voting. The experience was like accessing a safety deposit box.

To me there is no doubt they are trying to eliminate day-of voting all together.

Florida has huge mail in ballots. Even a huge amount of Republicans use mail in ballots in Florida. I just think we over thought the situation.

You don’t think. You know there was widespread cheating.

Of course there was. Any election with a Democrat on the ballot is subject to cheating. However, there is another factor, and that is Democrat voters rarely if ever switch parties. Democrat voters have a fanatical devotion to the Democrat party that makes the Taliban's devotion to Islam look trivial. I've been saying this for months that the admittedly limited sample of my observations show that the same brain dead zombies who had Biden/Ho signs up last time now have Democrat candidate signs up again. I observed no red wave of Republican candidate signs, just about the same massive numbers of Democrat signs that I saw in 2020. So while I'm appalled at the outcome I'm not surprised by it.

Herschel Walkers ad agency must have all been Democrats out to sabotage his campaign. The ads sucked big time . They emphasized his sports background rather than address the current issues. To quote myself from earlier, we're election a senator not a football coach. The advertising failed to reflect that. Also there appeared to be about 5 times as many Woodblock ads as Walker ads. Money talks.

“Because FL didn’t experience the massive election, ballot and voter fraud that occurred everywhere else. End of story.”

Yes.

“I observed no red wave of Republican candidate signs”

Same here. I think one reason is the overconfidence about a red wave. I knew that could be a problem. When I warned on here about doing that I was called a fear monger.

I also think the news of a red wave motivated more dems to vote.

We live in a brainwashed culture. Our nation is crumbling.

So, we're supposed to believe almost every poll, even ones most favorable to Democrats, were way off and overestimated Republican turnout?

And even though 72% of the country thinks we are in the wrong track, they put the people back into office who got us on that wrong track?

“People who are basically ethical and honest will never beat liars and thieves at that game.”

I think everyone in political battles end up compromising their integrity, some more than others, some by saying nothing when they should be saying something.

The immigration issue is an example where many politicians are saying nothing because, I presume, they are sissies.

Just my 2 cents:
I think Oz was a lousy candidate and I think we will see 110% voter participation in areas like Philadelphia.
I really like Lake in AZ but I think she should have held back some of the snarkyness until she was elected, Hobbs did everything possible to intimidate conservative voters.
I haven’t looked at the numbers but Zeldin should have taken out Hochul. He ran a decent campaign but between cheating and deplorable press coverage and not enough votes to overcome the gimmies, and dead voters. I think she spent her money on fraudulent voters and not yard signs, I don’t think I saw more than 2 verses 100’s of Zeldin ones.
The dems knew to concentrate their BS on a few key states.
