Not looking for medical advice, just a support group from fellow members who may be undergoing the same medical issues.
If you get lightheaded when standing up, it may be your Metoprolol dosage. Keep an eye on that. Drug expense? Try GoodRX. It works.
“you are deficient in magnesium. Get on a good mag glycinate, ~800mg/day, split through the day and your heart will get back into sync”
In my experience this is the answer. YMMV
I'm not sure I 100% believe that. Like I said, I've never worn a vest, but I'm on my 3rd implanted device and I've been shocked 4 times over a period of 15 years. I was never passed out when it happened, and I never passed out afterward either.
It's my understanding that you/I get shocked when and if you go into Vfib, not afib. Without being shocked, Vfib=death. My device is programmable as to when it will shock me. Your vest probably is as well. Mine is set, I think, to trigger at 190 beats/minute. At that speed, it's just fluttering but pumping no blood.
Broadcasting instructions is interesting. Does it call 911 by itself and/or give GPS coordinates to the 911 dispatcher?
After saying all of that, relax and take it easy until your 3 weeks with the vest are up when your cardiologist and you can decide what to do.
Don't fear an implant device. Mostly, I never even notice mine, but it has made me damn glad I've got it.
No, my understanding is that it issues an audio command for anyone in attendance to call 911. It will also issue subsequent shocks if the heart doesn't start beating again.
