US nuclear forces chief says Ukraine ‘just the warmup’ for larger crisis
UK Independent ^ | November 4, 2022 | Andrew Feinberg

The senior naval officer in charge of America’s nuclear triad says the current worldwide tensions sparked by Russia’s war against Ukraine could be the opening act for a larger conflict that the US must prepare for.

In remarks at the Naval Submarine League's 2022 Annual Symposium & Industry Update, US Strategic Command commander Admiral Charles Richard said the Ukraine crisis “is just the warmup”.

"The big one is coming, and it isn't going to be very long before we're going to get tested in ways that we haven't been tested a long time,” he said.

Do we have a General Buck Turgidson type in charge of the Navy's nuclear weapon? This type of talk about "The Big One" rhymes with the obsession of "The Big One" with General Staffs in every major European power in the lead up to August 1914. Is there one sane person with some power in DC to stop this march to major war?

I predict Nena's 99 Red Balloons will make an unprecedented comeback on the pop charts in 2023.

Jesus. Looks like End Game.

Luckily, I played a lot of the Fallout game series, so I know what to do.

If I find myself in a radioactive hellscape, the first thing I do is to start collecting empty tin cans.

I can get a cap for each one.

Interesting to look at the bios of the major creative talents involved in “Doctor Strangelove”. All of them, except Kubrick, has direct contact with war and its consequences,

Obviously, a greater agenda is taking place here within the US government, NATO, etc. (i.e.: 1) regime change in Russia and 2) try to bleed the Russians on the battlefield), but I did find this article’s finding rather relevant:

“Those most touched by the war, namely the internally displaced, were more likely to prioritise saving lives. Other research reveals that those farthest from the battlefields have the most hawkish attitudes.”

Interesting Germans and Austrians were able to produce Top 10 pop hits in the US back then. That Nena had a double with the song from “Top Gun”.

I grew up in the 70s/80s. I do not remember talk about using “IS” for the “Big One”. It was “WILL” or “COULD”. Maybe the people in charge back then were saner.

The Spanish Civil War of the 1930’s was just a warm-up for WW II, as was the Japanese Rape of Nanking. Testing of advanced weaponry and the genocide of whole populations.

A lot of which is going on in Ukraine right now. Civilian people are in no way, shape form, or manner safe from the brutal ravages happening.

Once the savages have tasted blood and something that looks a little bit like “victory”, it is MUCH harder to contain the catastrophe that follows.

Going to need more nuclear submarines so that when the end comes we will be declared the winner.

” some power in DC to stop this march to major war?”

Considering the current crisis was initiated and is perpetuated by Putin shouldn’t you be asking Moscow?

Withdrawal and surrender are not effective deterrents to armed aggression.

-Russia invaded and annexed Chechnya.
-Russia invaded and annexed Georgia.
-Russia invaded and annexed Crimea.
-Russia invaded and is attempting to annex Ukraine.
-Russia invaded and annexed LPR.
-Russia invaded and annexed DPR.
-Russia has declared its intention to invade and annex Moldova.
-Russia has declared its intention to invade and annex the Baltic states -NATO members.

There isn’t going to be a winner. How many soldiers do you think will be willing to die for the Biden homosexual regime?

WW3 begins on November 9th if the Rats steal the midterms, otherwise Putin will wait to see how much funding the Republican congress is willing to give to Ukraine. That is the key. Either way, Biden and his puppet masters are finished.

Exactly true !
You can't predict the world-wide crises, which are outside your control,
but you can prepare how your reaction will be.
Change only those things that you can control..

I'm putting all my money on Mitch. I've been told by conservatives he's good with judges, so why not trust him with thermonuclear war?

It is about time in another 10 years.

Battle of Waterloo ending the French Revolution/Napoleonic Wars was 1815, and World War 1 started in 1914. That was an interval between total wars of 99 years.

The previous interval from the Peace of Westphalia, 1648, until the Storming of the Bastile, 1789, was 141 years.

The previous interval from the Peace of Augsburg, 1555, until the Defenestration of Prague, 1618, was only 73 years.

It’s pretty clear that starting with the Black Death, Europe has been on a cyclical pattern of multi-decade total wars every 100 to 200 years. This happens when the population expands, resources are used up, and social stress boils over into nationalistic militarism.

Emigration out of Europe to colonies was a partial safety valve, but only for some countries with significant empires such as Great Britain, France, Spain, and Russia.

I was hoping that the current inter-war period would be longer, but I’m becoming less optimistic. On the other hand, it’s possible that a biological war would reduce the population with much less damage to the surviving population and that nuclear war won’t be necessary.
