The investigators said 23% of monkeypox cases result in conjunctivitis, although these cases generally happen in boys younger than 10 years. Monkeypox is not confirmed to spread through tears during conjunctivitis, but smallpox is. Investigators noted that the similarity between the 2 diseases might indicate that conjunctivitis can spread monkeypox.

Being sexually transmitted does not preclude other forms of transmission. We should probably watch Mumbai because they are having a conjunctivitis outbreak, see if Monkeypox spikes there or not.
So if its spread by conjunctivitis why did that dog in France who lived with two gay men have anal ulcers AND monkeypox.
What were they doing with the dog?

I just think that if in addition to sexual transmission, that if the conjunctivitis that develops in 1/4 of the cases also spreads the disease, we she probably be aware and figure out best practices since doctors just pretty much ignore pinkeye.
Why? Nothing happens to them anyway
Be it a curse, “a pox on all our houses”, or for a more conventionally scientific reason, I think we need to bear this in mind before it becomes more commonplace.
The conjunctivitis came from looking for love in all the wrong places.
