Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is facing mockery for her criticism of a new plan for Twitter’s subscription service.
The Congresswoman voiced her disapproval of the idea Twitter users paying for a monthly fee for added features.
“Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that ‘free speech’ is actually a $8/mo subscription plan,” she wrote Tuesday night.
Her tweet comes after Twitter owner Elon Musk shared his plan to raise the cost of the platform’s subscription service Twitter Blue to $8 per month.

People would still be about to use Twitter if they did not pay for the subscription plan, but they would not enjoy as many features.
And several conservatives roasted Ocasio-Cortez for her comments about the plan.
“Twitter is still going to be free you moron,” conservative Arthur Schwartz wrote.
Batya Ungar-Sargon, the deputy opinion editor at Newsweek, tweeted, “This is such a great example of the progressive MO: Take something that confers status and privilege on an elite few and then treat it like it’s a universal principle that may never be questioned.”
“‘Free speech’ does not mean that services must be free of charge. You use your phone for free speech but you also pay for the phone plan,” chimed in conservative commentator Ben Shapiro.

Having lost most of white, straight America, the Democrats have cobbled together a constituency of grievance voters, who have to constantly be reminded they are discriminated against. Then we will understand why these antagonists are appointed and elected, they are the zookeepers.

I blame the Professors at Boston University that gave AOC a degrees in economics instead of flunking her out.
All I care about is — one week from today — her and The Squat putting up candidates against Nanzi for all the Minority positions, and burning down the House if they don’t get their way. Make J6 look like a Sunday picnic.
And let’s not even mention a certain very tall male candidate from PA.
I’d go see that. I think she’s major league hot.
Dumb, but hot.
Exactly. Perfectly qualified to be a stripper, in other words.
Its FREE for the basic which is what most people will use ...
Nothing wrong with charging for extras ...
A very ugly stripper.
it’s to FLUSH OUT THE BOTS!!!
bots aren’t gonna pay
Just don’t smile too much...
Bonus points if she can squat and “make change” for customers paying their bar tab like the strippers in Amsterdam...
I think to get the blue check you have to submit a credit card, and the name on the card would need to match your Twitter identity.
The free speech issue is a facade. Musk has himself stated the true goal of his Twitter purchase, and it has nothing to do with free speech. It has to do with CONTROL.
What Elon Musk has said publicly — and in private texts — about X, his idea for an 'everything app'
If Elon Musk's deal to buy Twitter closes, the billionaire will have taken the first step toward something he calls "X," his vision for a new kind of social media platform that most in the US haven't experienced before.
An "everything app," as Musk puts it.
The Tesla CEO has said the acquisition will act as "an accelerant" to creating X — jump-starting the process by three to five years.
Musk has been talking about building X for months. In August, when a Twitter user asked him whether he had considered creating his own social platform, he replied, "X.com" — a web domain he bought over five years ago. At Tesla's annual shareholder meeting that same month, Musk said he had "a pretty grand vision" for X as "something that would be very useful to the world.”
X wouldn't be the first app trying to do a bit of everything. In fact, Musk indicated in May (he) might look for inspiration from Tencent's WeChat, a Chinese social media juggernaut that's one of the largest super-apps in the world.
Just like his endeavors as co-founder of Neuralink.
Wikipedia:
In April 2017, Neuralink announced that it was aiming to make devices to treat serious brain diseases in the short-term, with the eventual goal of human enhancement, sometimes called transhumanism.
Musk is a globalist, getting his marching orders from the likes of Schwab and Harari.
Whatever Twitter becomes, it will involve blockchain, digital currency, eventually leading to Digital ID - all of which are incompatible with ideas like free speech.
"If you're in China, you kind of live on WeChat," he said. "It does everything — sort of like Twitter, plus PayPal, plus a whole bunch of things, and all rolled into one, with a great interface.
It truly will be an "everything app." And that should scare the crap out of anyone who believes in freedom and individual liberty.
Government workers and contractors with close ties to Democrat run governments are an important part of that constituency both for electoral and monetary purposes. Also convinced doctainaire leftists are part of that constituency. Many of course overlap in the groups you list.
Even stupid people deserved to be represented in Congress. Unfortunately, the stupid outnumber the not-so-stupid in great quantities.
That twit couldn’t make change with both hands and a calculator
Surely by mere coincidence: (or not)....
The super weapon for the elites to control all the peasants in the world, in Atlas Shrugged was called "Project X".
“ Many of course overlap in the groups you list.”
Definitely true. I didn’t recognize the indoctrinated college students, the pro-choice, etc for that very reason. But it is a BIG ZOO for sure.
