A store near me makes absolutely beautiful caramel apples. They are artistic works that you really don’t want to eat. And they cost a fortune too. But people line up to buy them (at least before Joe’s Depression kicks in).

Caramel apples are best interspersed with candy apples.

Not just “plain” candy apples coated with red colored sugar glass, but fired up with cinnamon. Some use melted “Red Hots”, but that can get pricey.

If you really like hot cinnamon, make a red colored sugar glass recipe, and at the last minute stir in some Vietnamese or Saigon cinnamon. It kicks like a mule. (Not to be consumed by those taking blood thinners like Coumadin.)

Likewise, you can use ginger, which will really warm you up on a cold night.
