To me the only way to know the truth is go over to Ukraine and see for yourself from the front lines, otherwise you are taking the word from someone else on what’s happening and given all the lies the media has told over the years about everything, I’m waiting until it’s all over.
When one is on the front lines one sees the situation through a toilet paper roll and does not get the big picture. Back at the TOCs and HAs one gets a bit better idea of what is going on.
This is just another way of saying, "I am going to hold on to my prejudices regardless of what evidence to the contrary is out there that disproves my position." It's not even certain that visiting Ukraine in person would change your mind.
Did that for SVNam and Cambodia. We were winning in Nam, slowly but surely esp. In the villages and the NVA-VC just lost their deep bases in the U Minh Forest to the 7th and possibly 9th ARVN divisions while I was there. Flew by it. Foreboding as the Black Forest in Germany but more deadly.
Things were not going well in Cambodia re the Cambodian military but our operations there in May 1970 were a major defeat for the Reds base-camps, supply caches, and operational documents seized.

But the US spooks that are running this war won’t let anyone on the front lines except their pals in the media who consist of fiction writers.
