Guess we could go back to ammonia.
Get ready for the return of the old H2O swamp coolers.
R22, almost as good as R12 but not quite.
They came up with a new reason, climate change.
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
Global organized crime (imo), front-ending itself with very corrupt, constitutinally undefined political parties imo, is giving Constitution-impaired citizens the golden opportunity to learn about the federal governent's constitutionally powers right before an important election.
From related threads...
Regarding Biden signing the politically correct but constitutionally indefensible (imo) climate deal on refrigerants, patriots are reminded of the following.
The states have never expressly constitutionally given the feds the specific power to deal with government-manufactured (imo) global warming “crisis.” So by approving this unconstitutional treaty, the allegedly stolen Oval Office, along with the post-17th Amendment ratification Senate is once again helping to unconstitutionally expanded the already unconstitutionally big federal government's powers imo.
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.

A Brief History of Fantastically Wrong Climate Change Predictions (4.24.17)
Consider that Thomas Jefferson had first used his uncommon common sense as Secretary of State, then later his experience as president of the Senate, to point out that federal government power to make treaties cannot be used as backdoor to bypass the Constitution's Article V process for giving new powers to the fedreal government.
“In giving to the President and Senate a power to make treaties, the Constitution meant only to authorize them to carry into effect, by way of treaty, any powers they might constitutionally exercise.” —Thomas Jefferson: The Anas, 1793.
“Surely the President and Senate cannot do by treaty what the whole government is interdicted from doing in any way.” — Thomas Jefferson: Parliamentary Manual, 1812 .
The Supreme Court later reflected Jefferson's words with the following clarification concerning the Executive and Senate abusing their power to make and confirm treaties respectively.
"The obvious and decisive answer to this, of course, is that no agreement with a foreign nation can confer power on the Congress, or on any other branch of Government, which is free from the restraints of the Constitution." —Reid v. Covert, 1957.
The next step for draining the swamp is for Trump's red tsunami of patriot supporters, including closet Democratic Trump Supporters, to vote Republican in November.
I wish they’d pass a law that reads, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
“The agreement should lead to tens of thousands of new jobs and billions of dollars in exports”
Bull. It’s going to lead to lost jobs and refrigerators that will be affordable only to the rich.
Eh, just use propane.
Yep, my hvac friend explained to me this was a sham.
Mitch McConnell’s RINO posse all voted for it.
My 92 Corvette uses R-12 but I bought 6 Cans for back up, I haven’t switched to R-134, and won’t till I run out.
Or Ice Blocks.
—”Eh, just use propane.”
Widely used in high-end refrigerators.
Called R-290.
When my 23-year-old AC system started to lose performance, R-290 was much cheaper.
BBQ propane can have a tiny bit of water that may cause problems, but it usually works.
—” I haven’t switched to R-134, and won’t till I run out.”
IMO 134 is NOT a direct replacement for 12!
Uses a different oil and expansion valve.
YMMV.
Yup, made the move to R134a but that’s already being phased out. New cars come with HFO-1234yf aka R-1234yf which is kinda flammable.
In case of fire it releases highly corrosive and toxic hydrogen fluoride and the highly toxic gas carbonyl fluoride.[25]
(Nana is amazed at the brilliance of that suggestion)
Now all she needs is $85,000 to buy the EV
(The price by next month)
“... as clean technologies are developed to replace HFCs around the world, “Zaidi said
It sure would be nice to develop those solutions before ending those technologies that actually work to serve humanity. Are we going to retreat to unrefrigerated food in homes???
He better have a stray for his ice cream.
They are probably a normal feature of the atmosphere that are cyclical or otherwise affected by forces other than refrigerators and air-conditioners.

Way long ago, perhaps in the 1980s, we came across a huge collection of National Geographics. The cover of one of the 1957 issues was a celebration of the International Geophysical Year and featured a main story on the ozone hole.
In the good old days, hydrofluorocarbons would make a hole in the Ozone layer. That must not have been scary enough so now hydrofluorocarbons actually change the entire climate.
