If you thought that American life became expensive under the Biden administration, you haven’t seen the worst of it yet.
The U.S. Energy Department projects heating bills for Americans who rely on natural gas, which is roughly half of Americans, to increase by 28% this winter.
Here is the average increase in costs for heating this winter according to the Energy Information Administration:
Natural Gas: $931 (+28%)
Heating Oil: $2,354 (+27%)
Electricity: $1,359 (+10%)
Propane: $1,668 (+5%)
It’s no surprise that natural gas has become so much more expensive. The United States used to be one of the leading producers of natural gas.
However, Joe Biden kept his promise upon entering office and banned oil and natural gas development on public lands. At the time, economists estimated that this would cost the American economy $670 billion dollars over the next 20 years.
This cost to the American economy was underestimated as economists did not foresee a coming war between Russia and Ukraine.
While this estimate did factor in the loss of energy jobs and the increased cost of importing oil and gas, it did not predict the international supply of natural gas would rapidly increase in price and decrease in supply.
Due to Joe Biden’s ban on domestic energy production, we quickly became reliant on foreign oil and are now paying the price for it.

I thought we are exporting crap loads to Europe where they now have a gluten resulting in futures prices below zero...
Liars. Hearing costs are going to up by WAY more than 28% this heating season. And it doesn’t even have to be a particularly severe winter, either.
Worse is, that the fuel cannot even be delivered, because of no Diesel fuel for the trucks to haul it out the the customers.
Mother-in-law just paid twice what her heating oil for last year cost.
Could have something to do with the 1.04 million b/d (barrels per day) of diesel the USA has been exporting in 2022.

Interesting. Propane is down in my area approx. 40 cents a gallon. (Rocky mountain)

Strange how energy, food, medicine, education, etc. see double digit rises in prices but the inflation rate is 8%.
28% on top of God knows what the hellacious increase was during Biden’s first year. Just keeping the pilot light on in the hot water heater is problematic.
Doubling in the Northeast as well. Could cost Maine Democrats dearly.
We should all be so grateful that Joe is getting rid of our bank overdraft fees, so we can afford to pay for heat this winter! (/s)
Thanks. I didn't know about that, and looked it up to verify your post.
Wow!
Impossible. Inflation is only 8.7%.
I don’t know about you, but Joe promised me that I can balance my budget with better legroom in airplane seats.
thank God my coal bunker if full...
They don't have a glut - they have a lack of regasification terminals.
The LNG tankers going in circles waiting for a receiving terminal means that the ships aren't being used to move product.
Europe isn't the ONLY customer in the world - other countries need the LNG, and aren't getting it because they've been shut out of the market by the EuroWeeinies.
They are already talking about a diesel shortage and it isn’t even winter. Diesel and home heating oil are the same thing so I would think there will be a shortage of heating oil this winter. This will be a tough winter for millions of Americans.
Super. Let’s go, Brandon!
The price increase in our country takes place because we’re sharing our nasty fossil fuels with folks who abhor their very usage. We are as stupid as the Eurogreenies. Let them burn expensive Danish furniture to keep warm.
Voting democrat opens the gates to hell every time.
