I’m no Biblical scholar, but Luke 17:3-4 comes to mind. “If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him ...”
Even God requires us to repent before he forgives us our sins. John 1:9 - “If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us our sins…” No confession, which implies regret, no forgiveness. The Bible seems consistent in this message.
Some see forgiveness as a release of resentment and anger and a refusal to continue to dwell on the injury. That’s a very good thing for the person who’s been injured. It’s just letting go. Others see forgiveness as a concrete act in response to another concrete act, but they don’t necessarily carry anger and resentment simply because they haven’t yet forgiven. The offender is just no longer trusted or in the victim’s inner circle, and contact with them is limited to polite and very superficial interactions. The two points of view aren’t really that far apart.
God forgiving, and the individual forgiving, are two separate topics. This comes to mind as well, since we’re on this major (but important) slide:
“Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

Of my many friends and business associates in Hawaii all but my biker bros went there. Scared sh!tless. My family members who still live in Cali mostly cut me off in 2016 over Trump. The rest I haven’t heard from in two years. Only one niece who lives here in Alaska is still speaking to me.
Here on the island - different story. If anything, we’ve gotten closer.

101st Airborne Deployed to Ukraine’s Border ‘Ready To Fight Tonight’
A commander said, “this is not a training deployment, this is a combat deployment”
The White House has deployed thousands of American soldiers just miles from Ukraine to prepare for war, according to CBS News. Officers speaking with the outlet revealed they were there for combat against Russia.
Brigadier General John Lubas confirmed nearly 5,000 troops from the 101st Airborne recently joined the 100,000 American soldiers already deployed to Europe. Lubas described his troops as being on “full deployment,” and they are preparing to fight Russian soldiers in Ukraine. “This is not a training deployment, this is a combat deployment for us. We understand we need to be ready to fight tonight,” he said.
CBS Reporter Charlie D’Agata was embedded with the American forces as they conducted military drills – at a forward operating base – within four miles of Ukraine’s border. The 101st Airborne is engaged in joint exercises with Romanian forces, simulating Ukrainian soldiers’ combat against Russian troops.

101st Airborne Division deployed to Europe to bolster NATO
Colonel Edwin Matthaidess said his forces have been “closely watching” the Russian soldiers, “building objectives to practice against” and conducting war games that “replicate exactly what’s going on” in Ukraine.
CBS News reported, “[Russia’s] goal is to cut off all Ukrainian access to the sea, leaving the country and its military forces landlocked.” CBS News did not provide a source for that assertion. The Kremlin has publicly said its war goal is limited to eastern Ukraine.

Lubas declared the division was “ready to defend every inch of NATO soil.” However, Moscow has never threatened to invade a NATO country. Ukraine is not a NATO member. When President Zelensky said Ukraine should be allowed into the North Atlantic alliance last month, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg rejected Kiev’s proposal.
The 101st Airborne is a light infantry division. It carries the nickname the “Screaming Eagles” as the Pentagon utilizes the 101st as a force that can deploy around the world within hours. Lubas described his division as bringing a “unique capability, from our air assault capability… We’re a light infantry force, but again, we bring that mobility with us, for our aircraft and air assaults.”
Romanian Major General Lulian Berdila told CBS News that the presence of American troops was reminiscent of WWII, “The real meaning for me, to have the American troops here, is like if you were to have allies in Normandy before any enemy was there.” The 101st has not deployed to Europe since the last world war.

The commanders of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division who are now stationed just a few miles from the Romanian border with Ukraine are also making comments that they were ready to cross over in response to any escalation or attack on NATO.

I was at a bridge tournament in Atlanta 2018 and we finished the round about 5 minutes early. My partner went to the men’s room and two Pittsburgh women we played against began to chat about where we were from. I said my partner was from New York and I was a Canadian. They immediately assumed we were liberals, Hillary supporters, and anti-Trump, and one said something about what a horrible President he was. I said “Oh I don’t think so. I love the guy!” They were surprised and asked what I thought of Obama. I said he was the least qualified person in any room he’d ever been in and was a terrible president. One of the women turned blood red and began to cry. Then she left the table. My partner passed her on her way out of the room and when he got to the table, he asked why the opponent was crying. Her partner was still at the table so I couldn’t say too much so I just said she was sad that Obama wasn’t in office any more. The other woman couldn’t handle that and she got up and left too. To this day, my partner refers to that event as the one where Linda made the opponents cry. People became absolutely unhinged when President Trump won the Presidency. I wonder how many of them would like him back?

That’s truly all it would take. I don’t need them to flay themselves. Just look into my eyes and say those words. Some can even leave off the last two.
I did something I’ve never done before and will probably never do again when I learned the vaccines were coming out. I prepared an email about why I thought the jabs were dangerous. I attached Archbishop Vigano’s letter referencing the long-term plan, and a letter from Dr. Michael Yeadon, former VP of Pfizer, saying how dangerous the jabs were likely to be. I tried to persuade everyone in my contacts list not to take them. Even the staff at my two car dealerships got it. Only two people responded and both asked me if the lockdowns had affected my mental health. *sigh*
I did my best to help everyone I knew, even superficially, and damaged my reputation in doing so. I was willing to do that to try to save people. I hope that will turn out to be temporary. Only the two people who questioned my mental health need to say they’re sorry. I’d like to hear the first three words from some of the others though.
