As promised, I'm reporting back on the dinner, gathering, rally for Republican candidate for Governor of Oregon, Christine Drazan.
TOPICS: Local News
KEYWORDS: christinedrazan; oregon; politics
Last night in the small town of Banks, Oregon (population 1,826) I attended a dinner (free) and rally for Republican candidate for Oregon Governor Christine Drazan. Arrived before 5pm and the parking area was starting to fill in. Event was held in Schlegel Hall on the main street of town with one traffic light. Inside the hall, long tables, with tables cloths, table runners, and fresh flowers went down the center of each. A stage is at the end of the hall. Country music was being played by two musicians. It was good to see many younger people in attendance, along with Intel employees, loggers and farmers. People lined up for dinner, so much talking you could barely hear the music. A woman across from me had a fur coat on and no one threw paint on her. Local police chatted with people. I exchanged information with the woman next to me about starting a local Conservative coffee group. By 6:30, 400 people were in the hall and Drazan stepped in to huge applause and standing ovation. She worked her way down the aisle greeting and talking to people. When she got to the stage, an armful of flowers were presented to her by a group of children. Drazan gave conversational talk, no notes, very natural. She is not a Kari Lake (few are). Drazan will be more of a compromiser, than many of we America Firsters, would prefer. But, in dark blue Oregon, it is a near miracle, in 40 years to have a Republican ahead in the Governor's race. It was a good night for Drazan, small town Banks and hopefully Oregon.

Plus, I thought the financial institutions and the entire state were at the rally.

Was it something she said that night? She did lead the republican walkout of the legislature.
I helped pay for your free dinner by the way:)

Oregon Republicans need to get their game in the homeless camps. Tina’s machine has so many ballots ready to go already sitting in boxes just waiting for count night to give her the edge. .

Lots of people make that mistake. Mr. Banks would be disappointed.

Yes, she did lead the walk out.
I also paid for my dinner. Phil Knight also helped.
Actually, I think many of the elements of last night were donated by locals.
