An investigation is underway and two dogs are dead after an Amazon driver’s body was found in someone’s yard just outside of Excelsior Springs.
Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers said that they received a call around 8:30 p.m. Monday regarding an Amazon van that had been outside a residence for several hours, KCTV reported.
Deputies said when they arrived at the scene, they found a deceased male in someone’s front yard. It appears that he was an Amazon driver.
At this point, Childers was told that there were two dogs at the scene who had been aggressive toward deputies and medical staff. The dogs had gone back inside the house.

Oh, that is just awful. Prayers for this poor soul and family. Someone just trying to make an honest wage. :(
The owners of these vicious dogs need to be punished harshly - I’m reading about this far too often lately.
One of my neighbors lost his dog after an attack by an off-leash dog while he was walking in the neighborhood. Another neighbor doesn’t go out w/0 pepper spray on her leash b/c of too many idiots letting their dogs loose, which is illegal in my city.
Did amazon dock his pay for not meeting his quota?
We have acquaintances that live on a large property in a desert area where there are a lot of coyotes. They got two pit bulls to keep the coyotes off of their property and away from their pets and grandchildren.
They could not get insurance on their home.
The neighbors even came over and said they were glad the dogs were they b/c they kept coyotes off of their property too.
Still, every insurance company said no.
You just can’t be too careful around cocker spaniels.
GOOD!
I just saw an article, Surprisingly not this time. It was a Mastiff and German Shepard…it claimed.
I’ve been attacked twice in my life, German Shepherds both times.
Those are both big dogs.
I can tell you from experience that delivery drivers do not heed beware of dog signs even when clearly posted. They have some idea they are exempt. There may be more to this story.
The picture at the link would indicate that this was not in a well developed area...maybe no neighbors close by to hear/see what was happening? I can’t imagine if there were neighbors, they wouldn’t have called 911 or taken steps to protect the driver themselves. If it was that isolated, I would think neighbors would have the means to do so?????
No word on how they got the dogs out of the house to “dispatch” them!
Very sad and it will strike fear in any delivery drivers now. Hope Amazon doesn’t have a policy of drivers not being allowed to carry protection to defend themselves...be it animal or human...today it can easily be human!
Coyotes are less dangerous than pit bulls.
I've really tried to act aggressively against HIS wife/girlfriend/buddy . . . and he thinks we're playing . . . just a loving docile dog.
We don't have nor live in, any strange place, so Bubba may never be tested.
He's 9 years old
I’ve got a black lab myself. On the leash he likes to pretend that he’s some kind of tough guy and barks at other dogs - at least the ones he thinks might be a threat - but he’s never bitten anybody or any dog. He’s just a friendly little lab.
Of course, I always carry wherever I go including walking him. I’m not worried about a loose dog attacking him/me. If something like that ever started to happen, I’ll just shoot the other dog. If anybody doesn’t like it then they should have kept their dangerous aggressive dog under control.
I have a chocolate Lab that would absolutely take you apart if you came into his yard without me letting you in. I didn’t train him to do that. It is his yard and he has decided to protect it.
The only time I’ve been bitten was by a Labrador, when I was 11 and riding my bicycle up the street. It came out of its yard and got me on the thigh, not severely but there were toothmarks and some blood. I don’t think the owner had trained it to attack; perhaps it was just in a bad mood that day. My dad spoke with the owner and I never saw the dog loose again.
If Amazon doesn’t allow employees to carry guns a Baseball Batt would sufice.

The owners need to tell the insurance company the dogs self identify as poodles.
A neighbor now has fiour standard poodles. Very well behaved. The neighbor across the street is afraid of them.
