Shirley Hughes, the mother of one of murderer Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims, is calling out the use of Dahmer’s image for Halloween costumes this year as being exploitative, according to a report by TMZ.
In an interview with the outlet, Hughes said it was triggering to see people dress like the man who took her son, Tony Hughes, away.
Tony Hughes was a deaf man who was murdered by Dahmer.
Dahmer was eventually convicted of killing 17 men between the 1970s and 1990s. His other horrific deeds included sexual assault, the mutilation of his victims, and sex crimes involving minors.
Authorities would not find out what happened to Hughes until they found a skull in Dahmer’s apartment that matched the victim’s dental records.

In an interview with the Guardian, Shirley Hughes said it was difficult to talk about her son’s murder and to see people make stories about the victims and their families.
“I don’t see how they can use our names and put stuff out like that out there,” she told the Guardian.
Eric Perry, whose cousin Errol Lindsey was murdered by Dahmer, said Lindsey’s family only found out about the series after it came out.

Because the information in Dahmer’s case is public record, Netflix was not required to consult with the victim’s families. But Hughes and other relatives of the victims have called out the company for profiting off their trauma.
“So when they say they’re doing this ‘with respect to the victims’ or ‘honoring the dignity of the families,’ no one contacts them,” Perry wrote on Twitter. “My cousins wake up every few months at this point with a bunch of calls and messages and they know there’s another Dahmer show. It’s cruel.”
In a report from Insider, Lindsey’s sister Rita Isbell said she was never contacted about the show, even though the series recreated her emotional victim impact statement where she shouted at Dahmer for killing her brother.
“I feel like Netflix should’ve asked if we mind or how we felt about making it,” Isbell said in her essay published by Insider. “They didn’t ask me anything. They just did it.”
Sounds like something Bill Maher would wear.

Me and my brother went to school with a kid just like this sick bastard. He would get off torturing frogs, squirrels, turtles, he would cut off their limbs then slowly burn them alive or gut them while they were still alive, or throw them into a frying pan alive and he would laugh with glee.
I also was in Boy scouts with him, this was way back in the mid 1970s and he would make the other scouts cry from this insanity. This is back when we were 11 or 12.
To this day me and my brother are wondering what ever happened to this kid if he turned out to be a serial killer but I can never find his name. I read Dahmer use to do the same thing with animals. My point being, there’s probably quite a lot of people like this, they get off on torture and death
Many people equate the love of torture as being “normal boy” behavior.
As long as the “normal boy” is someone like Dahmer, then they are correct.
That Uvalde shooter was witnessed, and videoed himself, torturing/beating animals. If he had been prosecuted for this crime - abundantly witnessed and self-documented - then he might never have ended up killing a bunch of kids and their caretakers.
It’s strange how people can be allowed to do this kind of thing over and over and yet if we were to post anti-COVID-vaccination views on faceberg, we’d be at risk for getting banned.
And while we’re on the subject, what’s the difference between a sadist who tortures animals and one who, for example, films himself beating a disabled/elderly person? Or someone who just takes that one little step over the line and decides to start taking extreme advantage of an unfortunate demographic such as young male (ethnic) streetwalkers?
We are such a lost and gauche society.

Is it tasteless to see LBJ Halloween masks because it triggers images of dead soldiers who fell in Indochina? LBJ took 1000’s of sons lives away from their mothers. There should be a ban on LBJ photo’s and name changes to the Johnson Space Center.
Is it triggering to see vampire, Biden and Putin costumes? Pedophile and Muslim costumes? How about Pelosi, Schumer Nadler, Schiff, Manson and Pence masks? Of course wearing an Orange Man costume sporting a MEGA hat carrying Trump 2024 sign would be the ultimate trigger that would send the lefties into a tail-spin of screaming spit and heavy diaper loads.
And what about Japanese Americans triggered by Harry Truman costumes and masks. He was responsible for giving the order to drop the atomic bombs on Japan... which vaporized over 150,000 Japanese souls in a second in August of 1945.
We can’t forget Darth Vader costumes that represent evil and conquest that killed millions in a fictitious empire war. What’s the difference? Reality or fantasy... the representation is the same.

How many movies have been made about that creep? Serial killer biopics have a largely female audience. I can’t figure out why they want to see one about a homosexual murderer and sadist (let alone how anyone would want to bear his image on their face).
