A Florida man stabbed his wife to death and then cut his own neck in a horrific murder-suicide in front of their three young children Monday, officials said.
Deputies from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in Deltona just after 6 p.m. after a neighbor told them that a 10-year-old boy ran to his house for help because his stepfather had stabbed his mother.
The neighbor told cops he entered the residence and found a woman and a man on the floor — along with two unharmed children — before calling 911.

That said, even if it really is a step-father killing his common law (my guess) who is the mother of his step-children, the headline is inaccuate—
the incident took place in front of HER kids, not THEIR kids.

He was the father of the two younger children. They found the birth certificates of the two younger children. That is how they found his real identity. He had stolen a Texas man’s identity years earlier.
He was the step dad of the 10 year old. But, was the father of the two younger children.
They both said illegal and went into the identity theft, but only one left off Mexico and only one leads with “Florida man.”

Sheriff Chitwood called the situation “sickening.”
“This is really, really a heartbreaking story,” Sheriff Chitwood said. “You have three little kids involved here – a 10-year-old, a 5-year-old, and a 2-year-old who don’t have their mother anymore.”
Sheriff Chitwood explained that Salazar had ID with the name of a man whose car and ID was reportedly stolen in Texas years ago. Based on evidence found, Chitwood says it appears that Salazar came into the country illegally and stole the identity of the man in Texas.
“What we find out is Alberto Garcia – that’s identity theft,” he said. “Somewhere along the line, Oscar Salazar came into the country illegally and got this guy’s identification cloned.”
