Gen X was the generation to:
Be the last one to live with the threat of nuclear war hanging in the background
Remember the age of Reagan, and the prosperity and opportunity it created
Anti-establishment, but not in a fake 1960s hippie fashion
Were educated before 'wokeness' became a required university course
Sort of get screwed by the excesses of Boomers (like the Clintons) and the cluelessness of the Millenials, but still had the induviduality to persevere
Become somewhat innoculated to propaganda because of inundations of advertising (I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV)
To be there with the growth of the internet and see its potential beyond pr0n and narcissistic Tik Tok videos
Actually had to use books instead of Wikipedia to do research
Grow up playing outside without their noses buried in their phones.
May be some of the reasons.
Do they all then collectively stop shouting “THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE”?
Rage on baby! Let me feel your rage. Oh yea....
Xers realize that they will have to accept a lower standard of living with the Dem policies. They wanted it all and they wanted it now but with the “progressive” ideology, they will own nothing and be happy.
Many voters are just too scared to admit it to a pollster.
I am so glad I am part of this generation. The young people are almost all infected with the woke virus and many Boomers are infected with the “I am getting a huge increase in my SS benefits and cheap insulin!” virus.
Once people start to work, pay taxes and take on the responsibility of families and aging parents, they tend to wake up. Of course most of the next generations have no intention of growing up, so they just resort to tantrums and name calling...like the spoiled Peter Pans they are.
If you are not a liberal at twenty, you have no heart. If you are not a conservative at forty, you have no brain.
Winston Churchill
As one in the middle of that generation - It may be that the GenX liberals were just foolish and young and not leftist, but they were not irrationally angry when us conservatives and libertarians disagreed with their foolishness. They grew up and saw what left leaining philosophy led to and are getting red pilled.
The Democratic Party is corrupt, it corrupts the country, and it must be massively defeated.
I believe I read somewhere that Gen X included a very large percentage of entrepreneurs compared to other generations.
we remember Reagan, and wont be fooled by Democrats/Socialists trying to resurrect the evil empire from the ash heap of history.
Well, I will be happy to be reclassified as GenX vs Boomer, but I thought GenX started with birth in 1965? I was born in 1962 but I am between 45 and 64 as of today.
Republicans aren’t the reason Deep State has to steal elections.
MAGA red Donald Dem DINOs are.
I’m at the tail end of Gen X. I was born after 3 mile island, but before the Iranian hostage crisis, and I’m a proud Trump supporter.
When those get a taste of socialism and Marxism it’s not an easy selling point.
I think Gen X was the last generation to grow up before the universal leftist brainwashing that occurs now K-12 and up, and on TV and movies and commercial music, etc, so they were the last generation to know what the real world looked like. They have had a front row seat to the growing insanity - young enough to have rolled with the changes but old enough to remember the way things were. The younger generations don’t know what a sane world looks like.
Meanwhile, the Boomers still think in terms of the old America, and grew up in a time where mass manipulation and disinformation was already occurring, but very few people were aware of it. I think the Boomers are the only generation that still has any trust in the old institutions - mainstream media, the government, law enforcement, etc.
They were also taught in college by professor who are now in their late 70’s and early 80’s, and their HS teachers were predominantly the hated Boomers. Both groups being people that actually had a grasp of their subject matter and taught facts not propaganda.
Someone 64 years old is Gen-X?
Lord help me.
Self-reliance pretty much explains my generation. I had to come home to an empty house, cook my own dinners, was told to play from dusk til dawn, rode bicycles and hiked out in the country, and pretty much wore my older brother hand-me-downs.
