I think Gen X was the last generation to grow up before the universal leftist brainwashing that occurs now K-12 and up, and on TV and movies and commercial music, etc, so they were the last generation to know what the real world looked like. They have had a front row seat to the growing insanity - young enough to have rolled with the changes but old enough to remember the way things were. The younger generations don’t know what a sane world looks like.
Meanwhile, the Boomers still think in terms of the old America, and grew up in a time where mass manipulation and disinformation was already occurring, but very few people were aware of it. I think the Boomers are the only generation that still has any trust in the old institutions - mainstream media, the government, law enforcement, etc.
Plus this critical race BS doesn’t make sense to us.
Our TV shows had white people, black people, all different people mixed together. And they subverted expectations too....we saw rich black families like the Cosbys and the Banks, and poor white families like the Waltons and the Bundys.
In some ways it was actually kind of an idyllic American childhood, looking back on it now.
And it’s hard to sell us on the idea that Balkanizing the USA into completely separate groups of people that hate each other and all have to act a certain approved way.
As a boomer, you could not be more wrong.
Now put down the Hunter crack pipe and walk away.
I’m an early Boomer and I take exception to that, my lifetime motto has always been;
“TRUST NO ONE, BELIEVE NOTHING, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, PROVE IT TO YOUR OWN SATISFACTION”!
