Eliminate simple sugars and you might just eliminate your GERD.

The “Take Charge Of Your Health” Ping List

This high volume ping list is for health articles and studies which describe something you or your doctor, when informed, may be able to immediately implement for your benefit.

Email me to get on either the “Common/Top Issues” (20 - 25% fewer pings) or “Everything” list.

24-hour pH monitoring (via intranasal catheter) to measure esophageal acid exposure time and number of reflux episodes.

Now that sounds like fun!

Great finding, CM.

I have GERD really bad, somehow connected to a hiatal hernia that I developed

Carbs don’t really seem to affect me as much as specific foods.

Tomatoes and tomato based sauces are the worst
Ice cream (milk doesn’t seem to have the same effect)
Processed meat within two hours of laying down

The supposed only cures are cut off your esophagus above stomach, jamb the esophagus further into stomach and stitch it back up.

Or put a bracelet of magnets around esophagus above stomach that keep the tube tight. I’m thinking I’ll get the bracelet but would love to hear from anyone who has had a procedure!

GERD is a side effect of overlapping medical conditions and doing anything simply to ameliorate symptoms of GERD is as foolish as taking pain medication for cancer. You must resolve each of the conditions contributing to GERD and it will reconcile of its own accord.

I know. Been there. Btw, PPIs are POISON.

AMA board-certified MDs are idiots in this realm and anyone suffering GERD should consult both with their pharmacist - if it’s medication-induced - and a naturopath.

Remember: So-called ‘doctors’ thought stomach ulcers were caused by stress not so long ago and the system persecuted/ridiculed the one doctor who found the cause and the cure for 20 years before finally acknowledging his achievement with the Nobel Prize.

Many people will suffer & die before the system stops playing pharmaceutical bingo with peoples’ lives.

The choice to stop playing lies not with the doctor, but the patient.

Of course it works. We know the culprits of acid reflux and none of them are carbs.

Unfortunately, I’ve been Keto for years and it hasn’t solved my GERD. Reduced it perhaps. maybe. But if so, not by much. Lots of other benefits and I plan to be Keto-almost-Carnivore for the rest of my life, but it didn’t help my GERD.

Odd as it sounds, if I feel it coming on, sometimes taking Ox Bile helps. Seems to be related to consuming too much fat and my body struggling to process it. Not as a regular supplement, mind you. Just when I feel GERD coming on.
