So CSI: Vegas decided that, instead of a show about 'assault-style weapons', they did one about trailer park rednecks and a Ruger 10/22.
Here's a link to the show. They called it a 'murder weapon', a 'sniper weapon', before they finally figured out it was shot into air and hit the victim by accident.
But they must have said 'Ruger 10/22' seven or eight times.
I concur. Dirty 10/22 don’t go bang reliably. Clean one is hours of fun. Mostly easy to clean but most would recoil in my methods but it’s a $200 gun (at least it used to be).
The 10/22 is one of the greatest firearms ever made
A Ruger 10/22? A plinker, a squirrel gun; small game. Fun to shoot. Not a bad platform for a couple days alone in the woods; it can put some meat on the grill. But don’t plan on elk steaks unless you are VERY good, and VERY lucky.
Well, every home in America should have a 22LR long gun. One of my all-time favorites is the venerable Marlin 25.
“Use High-Velocity ammunition. I use CCI Mini-Mags almost exclusively in mine.”
I like the CCI Stinger. That is a wicked little pill.
“An iconic, American classic rifle.”
Including the Wal-Mart Edition.
I hear they shoot so fast that the bullet hits before you pull the trigger.
I have a Ruger 10-22. I put a 10-32 Simmons sight on it. It was very accurate out to 100 yds. I suppose it could be a sniper rifle because it is so quiet. However if I was a sniper, I would want to be as far as away from the target as I could get.
ps
I don’t know why Ruger makes it so hard to field strip the 10-22. In my opinion, it is much easier to clean an AR-15
Bellisario and Glen A Larson with Mike Post on music made some of the best TV ever.
“A recent episode of Big Sky referred to a pistol to police found as being “registered”. The show takes place in Montana which has no gun registration. Crime show writers really need to get out of LA and NYC and see what the rest of the country is like.”
Maybe it was going to be married soon so was “registered” at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond for wedding gifts.
How many of those CSI shows are there? I don’t watch them and never have. Just not interested.
Maybe once they get to “CSI Muncie” or “CSI Bangor” I’ll tune in.

The Israelis use scoped suppressed 10/22 for crowd control. One second you’re throwing a rock and the next you’re grabbing your shin.
yup, CB-rounds are damn quiet
by design i’m sure, same-same not being able to just rack the bolt
but nothing a dremel tool can’t fix...
The Glen Larson “outside” studio is close to the original Bellisario studios on Gower. I used to go there to pick up documents for a certain Tv studio when I was interning. Years later, I became “someone” and visit the Universal lot office frequently just to chat. Before he died 2014, I asked for one of the original Ceylon helmets from B Galactica in his warehouse and he gave it to me. It means more to me than darth vader’s helmet.
Hot Gat!!!
I think I’ve seen him hit tires on moving cars, too.
I have a walnut 10/22, with a couple of extra 10 round mags, and a cheap 4X scope. Very accurate.
