If she was really given offer, start date and a badge, then told to wait in the lobby for a background check that is a huge red flag. That should have been done before the first day.
a buddy of mine back in the 80’s got a job at a Wendy’s in OCMD for the summer 85, first day he quit after 4 hours, just walked out, never picked up a check. It was that bad.
He ended up at Pizza Hut, loved it there.
Not trying to defend this person but I can tell you from personal experience this happens more than you realize, I quit two jobs, one in the first week and the other in the first month, each time as an IT Engineer what was promised in the interviews was not what in reality, a job was promised to be work from home turned out to be 9-5 in an office cubicle, the other was an office administrator versus an engineer, don’t settle for a job that makes you miserable

Local employers: If you receive a job application from this girl, please disregard. She’s not serious about getting and keeping a job. Delete or place her application into the nearest paper shredder, and go on with your day. You “never received it”.

I worked at a place that kept a record of how fast temps quit, and they had to throw it out after one girl came in, and was out the door as soon as the receptionist turned to get a clipboard of paperwork for her. About 15 seconds.
Place was run by a certifiable lunatic, so we figured she was probably the most perceptive person on the planet.
And (1) How is she going to pay the bills and (2) Since making this public, does she really think any other employer will hire her? Since she voluntarily quit, I presume she cannot get unemployment, etc.
