Not trying to defend this person but I can tell you from personal experience this happens more than you realize, I quit two jobs, one in the first week and the other in the first month, each time as an IT Engineer what was promised in the interviews was not what in reality, a job was promised to be work from home turned out to be 9-5 in an office cubicle, the other was an office administrator versus an engineer, don’t settle for a job that makes you miserable

I put in several years in a cubicle. It can be great fun! One guy who played the same James Taylor CD all day. To this day, I can’t stand his music. The other side was the whispering, battered wife trying to calm down her soon to be ex-husband. I felt sorry for her. Then , there were the others with their the talk of the weekend soccer matches and who picked up the snacks. The smell of noxious fumes from someone’s lunch. And the odor of cigar smoke from the fat lesbian chick down the way. Seriously. Ah, such memories.
