Watch Seattle Pitcher Andrés Muñoz Throw An Utterly Ridiculous Fastball

VIDEO AT LINK.......................

Andrés Muñoz of the Seattle Mariners threw a nasty 103-mile-per-hour fastball during a playoff game Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The opposing batter was Toronto’s Vlad Guerrero, Jr., and even he was blown away by how fast the pitch was thrown. Guerrero could be seen shaking his head in awe at it.

Muñoz’ throw was the fastest pitch heaved during the MLB playoffs in five years, Codify reported.

The 103 mph heater was indicative of how the first game of the American League Wild Card series would wind up going. The Seattle pitching duo of Luis Castillo and Muñoz held the Blue Jays scoreless, en route to their 4-0 victory. Luis Castillo threw seven innings and notched five strikeouts before Muñoz relieved him to carry out the shutout. According to ESPN, the victory Friday was the Mariners first post-season win since 2001. (RELATED: Blake Bortles Announces His Retirement From Pro Football)

In 2022, the Blue Jays led Major League Baseball with 1,464 hits throughout the regular season. The Jays picked a bad time to go cold with their bats. Toronto faces elimination Saturday in game two of the best-of-three series if they lose again.

If Seattle puts on another pitching clinic in the second post-season game, they’ll surely advance to face the Houston Astros on Tuesday for the divisional round series.

John Hiller pitched for Felch for a while after he retired.

This also happens up there.

I played catcher one time and caught one in an intimate place from a foul tip. Never again.

“The next year, or the year after that, he was playing for another team, and did the same thing to the Cubs.”

He’s got personality issues. Glad he’s gone. More money for Judge.

I saw Eddie pitch several times many years ago. Every game he would throw one pitch that was so fast no one in the stadium could even see it. All you could hear was the slap of the ball in the catchers glove.

The umpire who didn't see the pitch either but heard the ball slap into the catcher's glove and saw the catcher's glove sitting perfectly still in the center of the strike zone could do nothing but call the invisible pitch a strike which the crowd's oohs and aaahs seemed to instantly confirm was the correct call.

A second later Eddie would take the ball out of his own glove confirming the invisible pitch was really the pitch that never was to the delight of the crowd and the WTF of the umpire.

Steve Dalkowski, who never made the majors, may have been the fastest ever. He pitched in the Orioles system in the early 60’s. Supposedly an attempt was made to use the primitive radar available at the time to measure his velocity - he tried for 45 minutes to get one close enough to the target that the radar could measure it. Finally got one close enough and it measured something like 97 - at the same distance where the catcher’s mitt would be, which means it was well over 100 at release which is how Statcast measures it. Those who saw him pitch estimated he probably hit 110 at his fastest.

Guy once pitched a complete game in which he struck out 21 hitters and walked 24. Just a bit wild. Ted Williams, possessor of the best hitting eye ever, refused to hit against him in a spring training game near the end of his career - said he couldn’t see the ball.

He never pitched in the majors due to wildness and personal issues.
