Two people were shot outside the Long Island home of GOP gubernatorial candidate Rep. Lee Zeldin on Sunday while his teenage twin daughters were at home, he confirmed to The Post.
“My daughters Mikayla and Arianna were doing homework on the first floor,” said Zeldin, who was not home at the time. “They heard the shots. Boom! They went upstairs and locked themselves in the bathroom.
“They’re freaked out,” the congressman said.
The Suffolk County pol, who is running on a tough-on-crime platform, said the two people who were shot were taken to Long Island Community Hospital.
“I don’t know who was shot,” Zeldin said, adding that he is still awaiting details.
He said his front porch, where he was interviewed by The Post on Saturday, “is now part of the crime scene.
“The local police have cordoned off the area,” he said.
Zeldin’s twins, 16, called 911 from the home around 2:20 p.m., police said.

Zeldin has been solid about the crime problem in New York. He is sooo much better than Hochul.

Trump pushed back pretty hard while president. Then Joe stole the whitehouse and that push stopped. I live in Islip but haven’t heard Suffolk county is doing anything special.

My money is on Hochul and fellow communists just taking a shot across Zeldin’s bow... So to speak...

The daughters were the ones home at the house when it happened. The perps haven’t been named as yet.

Hochul wants New Yorker’s left at the mercy of murderers, carjackers, home invaders, armed robbers, muggers and rapists as she starves law enforcement of funding. New Yorkers who would elect her deserve all the suck they’re going to get.

Who shot them?
I unfortunately live about 20 minutes from where Zeldin lives. I saw a sign for Hochul today on the side of the road when I was driving, I came *this* close to running the damn thing over. If she wins or more likely manages to steal the election, this state is finito, toast, kaput. The only reason I’m here is to take care of a sick parent who refuses to move, but if this psychopath Hochul wins, and she is a psychopath, I’m going to insist we move. I’m not sticking around as gangs start taking over neighborhoods demanding protection money.
