In 1953, Queen Elizabeth drove around and waved to crowds of school kids lining the streets.

I attended that school with Maggie Thatcher’s Secretary of Education- Gil Watts.

1963. Worked for Jim Brown, mayor of Tybee Island, Ga

1965 Worked with John Rousakis in Savannah. GA - in insurance - he became mayor of Savannah, Ga.

2012 Johns Hopkins - my physician’s and Ben Carson’s reception areas were adjoined.

Tony Snow was being treated in the DC physician’s office where I worked.

Atty.Gen. William Sessions and I, nearly got hit by a car while jay-walking in DC.

Father of the Metro = Carlton Sickles. gave me his 38 year service pin when a colleague told him I used the Metro every day.

I made a phone call to The Washington Times and Wesley Pruden answered it - we chatted a while - nice man.

2003. Worked with Patrick Hope, now a Dem rep. for Virginia.

Flew on a plane with Cal Ripken.

Saw Gerald Ford up close.

Saw Billy Idol up close at a local TV station - he was sweet.

We all share the oxygen with people who are alive NOW - Enjoy those moments!!

Sounds about right. Sure he spent most of the rest of his life watching for some bozo to try to even the score or to get 15 minutes of fame.

Dale Murphy was in my little sister’s class in high school, two years behind me. I don’t remember him from then.

My father met either Charles Lindbergh or Eddie Rickenbacker (I forget which, he was a big fan of both).

He saw Queen Elizabeth in the late 1950s when she passed through Maryland and toured our local Super Giant grocery store.

I was a few feet away from Muhammad Ali when he opened a grocery store one street over from where my dad saw the Queen.

I met Barry Goldwater in his capacity as Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee when he was shown my ops floor. I had advance warning so I had my Goldwater ‘64 pin on.

Forgot one.

Met Debra Winger when she was dating Bob Kerrey and spending a lot of time in Lincoln. Stunnigly beautiful in person. All my juvenile brain could think of when I shook her hand was “I saw your boobs in Officer and a Gentleman”

It was a scary time. The place really shook badly and those elevated throughfares and backfilled land areas really suffered.

There are an awful lot of grifters out there ...

Forgot another one-

Met Frank Zappa at a lecture he gave about censorship at Nebraska Wesleyan University. He autographed my Drowning Witch album cover which was promptly stolen during a party. Would love to have that now.

I've met a whole bunch of people from the Music world. Played with a couple of them.

When Jimmy Carter was president, a family member somehow got us invited to attend church with him in Plains. Shook his hand afterward.

Sonny Rollins is THE NICEST person I EVER met.

A leggy blonde actress met on a diverted flight forward class in 87

My only extremely brief affair with a celeb

It was something wild

She had legs and more legs

When I heard The Birds chirping next morning it was over and awkward

She had seemed to have accumulated very handsome men as husbands

Have no idea why me however briefly

I knew Waylon Jennngs fairly well

And my LA pal these days was very well known a few years back from his girlfriend but he’s not on the acting end of show biz

That’s it

Now notorious people

There I could write a book

Who were the most important people I have met in my life?

The team of doctors at the intensive care unit that treated my wife for blood clots in her leg and lungs, and they saved her life.

General Raymond Davis, a Medal of Honor awardee during the Korean War. He was the main speaker at the commissioning ceremony of the USS Chosin. Later, during the reception, my wife and I, spoke with him and I got to hear his thoughts concerning Jane Fonda.

While working at the Pentagon (2009-2019), I met many military people who served in Afghanistan and Iraq, some with Purple Hearts. Worked with a E-5 buck sargent (Army) who was awarded a Purple Heart. Some of the finest men I ever met and to me, deserving of the title of hero.
