On Trump's last day in office, why were sensitive documents allegedly in such disarray?

At the end of Donald Trump’s presidency, his team returned a large batch of classified FBI documents and other government records to the Justice Department in such disarray that a year later -- in a letter to lawmakers -- the department said it still couldn’t tell which of the documents were the classified ones.

The documents came from the FBI’s controversial probe in 2016 looking at alleged links between Russia and Trump's presidential campaign. Trump tried to make the documents public the night before he left office, issuing a “declassification” memo and secretly meeting with conservative writer John Solomon, who was allowed to review the documents, Solomon told ABC News this past week.

But for reasons that are still not clear – and to the great frustration of Trump and his political allies – none of the documents were ever officially released, and the Justice Department said Thursday it's still working to determine which documents can be disclosed.

There’s no way Trump formally issues a declassification memo — he even publicly declared his intent to declassify the Russia hoax related documents ag rallies —and the DOJ just sits on their hands saying, “oh woe is me, we don’t know.”

“El Toro poo poo.”

If this is the kind of stuff Trump took with him, their behavior is 100% justification for him having copies at Maralago and it makes sense the “deep state” would want evidence of its racketeering. Cover up. The Russia Hoax scam makes Watergate look like kindergartens.

Deemed so dangerous by the bureaucracy and political class the man duly elected by the American people came to office with a target on his back put there by the same administrative state and government officials who were in place with a duty to support the president and enact his policies.

If there’s “nothing to hide,” as they tell us, sleepy Joe could reach across the aisle in a symbolic effort to heal the mistrust of a nation and ensure all the Russia hoax documents are released. It hasn’t happened. What’s that tell us?

I don’t believe this. Trump knew they were going to go after him so you bet his papers were in order and nothing illegal was taken out of the WH. He’s no dummy.

“issuing a “declassification” memo “

So it is declassified.

So when does Solomon’s house and office get raided?

He was not the one packing documents most likely. He had people to do that who SHOULD have known what they were doing.

This story is more nonsense from the Left because they have nothing. They have been awfully quiet after that raid, other than these little crybaby stories.

If they were ALLEGEDLY IN SUCH DISARRAY, what the hell are these two pixies talking about. They were either in “such disarray” or they weren’t. “Allegedly” doesn’t cut it. America doesn’t work that way. “Allegedly” doesn’t make it true. Maggots.

“the department said it still couldn’t tell which of the documents were the classified ones.”

How ‘bout they take a look at the header and footer and each and every paragraph of the document, which should have ALL classification levels on it? Hell, I have to take the “this is how you mark documents” training every year to keep my clearances!

I can answer this one, although the general sentiment is obvious.

Trump, while in office, could declassify anything in an instant (classified information isn’tso much documents as it is a collection of facts), but he couldn’t legally release a lot of formal documents where the classified info was used because that process is governed by the Freedom of Information Act so that certain things like people’s names, administrative details, etc, get redacted. There’s a process for that, and it can be (and was) slow walked by bureaucrats until he was out of office. Then the requests were conveniently forgotten about, and since Trump wasn’t big on documenting things, evidence of the original declassification was limited and/or ignored.

So... Our illustrious FBI can’t tell what documents they have are classified but they definitely know everything they raided at Trump’s home was classified.

*************

Biden was declared the winner by the electoral college.

On Dec. 14, the electors will meet in their respective states and officially cast their votes for their candidate. The governor of the state will also certify the election results and the final cohort of electors by this date. The electors’ ballots will then be sent to Congress, arriving by Dec. 23.

Jan. 6: Congress counts electoral votes and certifies winner

On Jan. 3, the new 117th Congress will be sworn into office. Three days later, on Jan. 6, the newly appointed members will count the electoral votes. This is the final step in the path from president-elect to president.

At noon on Jan. 20, Biden, the president-elect, and Harris, the vice president-elect, are set to be sworn into office, officially becoming the next president and vice president of the United States.

All in black and white.......
